Try playing the the white balance, it the color your camera is capturing isn't true to what you are seeing with your eyes. Maybe try the cloudy setting or sunny setting. Sometimes if you can play with the white balance a bit, a better photo will result instead of letting the camera use the AWB setting (average white balance). Cheryl P.S. I enjoyed your photos.

You are welcome. Just keep photographing, the more you practice the better the images will be. Play with all the settings, that's the beauty of digital. Cheryl

Also, I would make sure that the baby's diaper doesn't show up in the photo. I prefer the knit one or better yet photograph the baby nude on that blanket. Maybe when the baby's sleeping (they love sleeping with the butt in the air) and it is so cute. Look on line for photographing babies and you will get a lot of good tips. Cheryl ps, the baby is adorable

I like the photo of the mother and baby by the window the best. I'd say to let the natural light of the window shine on the baby, possibly through a sheet which would deflect the light somewhat. Maybe use a reflector (it can be white Styrofoam) back towards the baby -- creating a shadow on the baby's small frame. And get close on that beautiful face and body. Get the details of the baby's feet, hands, eye lashes. For babies, I like the use a small f stop for more depth of field (f11 or f16). For portraits of adults, I prefer F2.8 - f5.6. Anyway, I like the photo of the baby's delicate hand holding the finger as it shows how tiny the baby really is and you can do the same with the baby's hand laying on the mom and dad's hand. By the way, if you use say F16 the name on the basket would be clearer to read. Well hope this helps. Cheryl

For me, I never wanted one or thought too much about it. Then, my son wanted one and my husband said not until you are 21. So, he joined the Navy, came home with a huge tat on his back. It is sort of pretty now...just wait for 40 years it will be green. He even got another one, I don't complain to him about it. However, I'm glad a dress shirt covers it up so his grandma doesn't have to see it. Our daughter would like one, but she is a model and for now won't get one. I just hope she decided against it. As for the photo you posted, she is a beautiful women and (for me) it is too bad she put them on her body in places it is hard to cover. Cheryl

I take a lot of photos with my digital because I can and I really enjoy it. I get so excited when I find something pretty to photograph, a landscape, flower, person that I just go crazy with enthusiasm. However, when I find that many of those photos are just mediocre; I stop shooting digital. I get out my film cameras and force myself to get creative again. With film I limit my shots to a roll of film. It is amazing and I think to myself, "why can't I just stay creative" with my digital photos. Why must I make myself shoot film to bring out the creativity in my shots on a regular basis? So my mission is to shoot fewer digital shots but, be more creative. That's my goal... Cheryl

I absolutely love this photo and i would like your recipe. I normally photograph Hummingbirds, but mine are gone for the winter months. So, I put up a suet block and they aren't coming to it at all. I don't get why they don't like it, so maybe homemade suet will attract them. Please private message me with the recipe, I sure would appreciate it. thanks, Cheryl

I love this shot, it is so hard getting them. They are rarely stationary. I try and get them, but most of the time they are blurry or out of focus. Or washed out. Nice shot, Cheryl
