Yes, it would be a good idea as long as the slide doesn't go missing. They like all other H bits are silly expensive. New seals are relatively reasonable though. If and when you might need one, a fellow in California makes them and will mail one along with rebuild instructions for around $20. Found him using Google.

They are all very nice. My favorites are the first and the third.

Thank you Erich.

Was trying for a straight on for #2 but in my haste missed aligning the windshield pillar with the marque badge. True, this angle may not be to everyone's liking but it looks wonky because of my inattention. I don't take the Hasselblad out as much as I should. I too like the square format and that huge viewfinder screen. The film back has developed light leaks from sitting around with the dark slide in place. Had to crop the first but managed to burn in the other two a bit. Recently bought a seal kit for it's next venture

The images of the'39 International are well done.

Thanks Beowulf. Thought it was around that age. Has a 48 Chev 5 ton as a neighbor but it's not as stylish.

Yup. Been a while since I've shot with anything with a waist-level viewfinder

If at all possible and if practical I try to at least explore if the subject could be shown to better advantage if not shot at eye level. If anything, a higher or lower angle gives some uniqueness to a subject that has been photographed by more folks than covered "Yesterday". Those moving twisting screens are handy, the K S2 has one. Just get muddy knees when out with most of the other oldies.

Thank you Cany143. I don't have an eye level viewer for the H so shoot this one from the belly button most of the time. This played out about as you said. Missed centering the windshield pillar on the second one (rats). Like the third best too.

....or, how to gobble through a 12 exposure roll of film and wind up with...

This retired 38 (?) International has been a favourite subject around Len's farmyard. Wished that the sun had come around more but there was some sky detail that is all too fleeting around here.

Didn't lock the shutter, one gone. Shot two of Len and Donna, stupidly wasted another two on the way to the truck that turned out to be subjects not worthy of a cellphone and in my excitement blew focus on the next. Of the rest, here's the best three. As an added feature, even though I electrical tape up all my oldies, light snuck in hence the crop when I prefer to frame and keep the square format this camera has.

Always have that new digital stuff to fall back on....

Like how you worked the colors. Your choice to limit the dof does help this to border on the abstract as well.

I'm not much of an academic on any subject let alone the artistic aspects of photography. Getting back to your main questions on impact personally for a photo to have impact firstly it needs a strong theme. Using your example, if your intent was to show the industrial blot on an otherwise pleasant Fall landscape - including more surroundings would be in order. If you wanted to show the grain terminal as industrial majesty then maybe a stand alone cathedral like angle against the sky.... Going for industrial blight - close shot of the structure and train cars, go with high contrast bw as gloomy and grungy as your imagination and post comes up with.
