I have an older version of the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM and it is a superb lens. No complaints.

Beautiful work, Gene. Thank your wife for working to keep this wonderful Ukrainian tradition going by teaching it to the younger children.

I am going to Hilo, Honolulu, Kauai, and Maui. Each port for only one day. Any advice about what is best for photography for a tourist with time constraints. I should have access to a car.

Shopnascar, Hawaii offers some of the most stunning scenery that you will ever see on this earth. You will not have time to do & see everything that may be of interest to you so plan ahead to make the most of your trip. As was already mentioned, utilize resources such as TripAdvisor to plan your trip.

One place that I feel is a “must see” is the Kalalau Lookout of the Na Pali coast on the west side of Kauai. Look it up on Google maps so that you know how to get to it. It’s a nice drive along the south shore of Kauai through Waimea Canyon. You will be rewarded with a sight from 4,000 feet up that will take your breath away. My wife had to drag me away from here after one hour.

Dry Falls, between Franklin and Highlands, is very picturesque. My favorite in that area is the Cullasaja Gorge.

1. MLKing Drive, aka West River Drive, is closed to auto traffic from 8 am till 5 during DST, so you can't drive there anyhow.

2. There's free parking below the west side of the Museum. Turn from Kelly Drive, aka East River Drive, onto Waterworks drive. Take the path past the Waterworks to MLKing Drive and walk across the bridge till you're opposite the boathouses.

3. Despite #1 above, after noon you can drive out MLKing for about a mile. You will pass a pull-out just opposite the boathouses (there is a fish ladder there) where you can stop for a minute or so.

4. After 5 pm you can drive on MLKing and there's plenty of free parking. Park in the lot closest to the museum and walk down to the boathouses.

Thanks, Bboston75, I'll look into suggestion #2 & #4.

From Art Museum, walk down Old Water Works Restaurant for a good unobstructed view of Boathouse Row. Hope your timing is during Fall Leaves. Sorry, do not remember if East or West...am afraid it is East.

Thank you, PI. I may head out to the restaurant but I wish to take pictures from the other side of the river first.

There's paid parking on the west side at the Zoo at 34th and Girard. If you then walk to the riverbank, it might be a bit too far north to see the boathouses. There's also parking further south at Amtrak's 30th St Station, but the absolutely best bet would be to actually park in the Art Museum area. Just my recollection...but if you check the local transportation company, septa.org, there is at least one bus that goes to the Museum area and is accessible from center city where there are many more parking opportunities. Take lots of beautiful pics. It's supposed to be really nice out today. :-)

Thank you, acelafella. I'll look up to see how far of a walk 34th and Girard is from where I would like to take pictures from.

I need some quick help from fellow hogs. I'm flying to Philly this weekend and would like to photograph Boathouse Row from the west side of the river, somewhere along West River Dr. The problem is, looking on google maps, I don't see any parking on the west side. Does anyone know if parking is available there or must I park by the museum and walk? Any help will be appreciated.

I recently used mypix2canvas.com and was very pleased with the results. You choose which edge you want so you control whether it wraps or not. Try to find a coupon from livingsocial or groupon -- you'll save about 60%.
