Such a sweet face!!

Please give him lots of hugs and kisses from me.

There will never be another Ted but I bet there will be someone to be part of your life. (I've been without Murphy for almost 2 1/2 years and though a part of me wants another dog, I just haven't found that right one, yet)

Dodie

Wow it's hard to fathom that Murphy has been gone that long. Didn't you just tell us about his passing?

This little character, Miguel, is pretty perfect for this household. He's chummy with Leaf and terrified of Oliver (which makes Oliver's life worthwhile if you were to ask him). And Miguel has learned to howl, beautifully and in a mournful minor key while somehow chewing syllables out of the sound, to sirens. Since there are a lot of sirens, he gets plenty of practice. He wants his people to join in, so we do. When the nonsense is over, I usually ask, "Why do people have dogs?"

Awwwww! It’s about time. Love him and he will return it tenfold.

No, sorry, I misled you. He is my housemate's dog so of course I get all the benefits without the work. But he is a very loving little soul when he's not a monster. To my delight his DNA test showed he is 33% Heeler, right up my alley. When and if I get my own dog I will make it abundantly clear!

Southwest, I'm surprised there is enough room in your cheek for your tongue. This looks like an affectionate fellow. And you got a great image of him.

What, you don't take me seriously? How did we get here? He's not my dog but I get to enjoy him.

Really nice. The only wildflowers we have so far are dandelions and a little pink something.

You'll get there. I am pretty far south, you know. For now let these tide you over.

I'll never understand it. Do they find them cute? Funny? Devoted? Loving? People who have dogs are delusional. I certainly don't see the appeal, but this little guy lives in my house so he's fair game for photo sessions.

Actually the cactus flower is in my front yard, so not very wild, but the plant came from the wild. The apple blossoms aren't exactly wild either though the tree that produces them grows in the forest (there are a lot of apple, pear, and peach trees out there who seem to think they are native to the Gila). The short-stemmed daisy is actually a wildflower, so my title is not entirely off the mark. I like phones for getting low-down flower shots. I hope you enjoy these.

Nice captures. The best camera is the one that you have with you.

That's true. Plus only having a phone makes you think differently about getting photos. It's good practice.

Well I don't know your cats, have never seen them before, and I agree that they're good-looking.

These were fun. Thank you. The NM shots bring back memories of the at least once-a-year trips Fort Worth to Roswell — long before interstates.
Thanks again.

There was a time when interstates did not exist? I'm sure that was a mixed blessing! That sounds like a long drive between Fort Worth and Roswell, one I think I'll skip.

I never thought that I would retire and start taking road trips, but here I am doing just that. I think the smaller roads are what will make the trips possible. Thanks for looking.

Nice!!! Love the flowers!! Always love seeing Violet! I like #2 and #4!! #9 looks like the area of Texas where I grew up.

I hope you had a great trip.

Dodie

No wonder you left and never returned! Yes, Violet is a huge draw; she's just such a neat dog, and so well trained. She said she misses hiking with me in NM. I feel sorry for her there.

This trip seemed a little easier, probably because I spent less time in Florida. There's a tricky balance between being supportive and being in the way. It's good for me to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. I'll never like crowded beaches though.
