I started using crashplan and so far I like it. However, I haven't signed up for anything beyond the free plan yet. The free plan does not support NAS drives on Windows, although there are supposed to be a couple workarounds. I got a workaround to work on one old computer but not the Win8 one.

So my backups are currently limited to attached drives or the cloud (if I subscribe). My NAS drive isn't part of the system until I figure out how to get it to work.

Hmm...I am backing up my NAS drive under windows with the free 30-day trial. The easy Windows solution is to install app for a single user, not all users. That worked for me. You can find more details at:

http://support.code42.com/CrashPlan/4/Configuring/Separately_Backing_Up_Multiple_User_Accounts_On_One_Device#Installing_The_CrashPlan_App_Per_User_On_Windows_.26_OS_X

It was great to verify that everything works as expected before purchasing the service.

I am using the 8TB NAS WD My Cloud drive. I have it set up as a 4TB raid drive to protect against a hard drive failure.

I use Crashplan as an offsite cloud backup (http://www.code42.com/crashplan/). I selected this service over others like Carbonite because it includes NAS backups as par of their personal home plan. Other services either do not support NAS drives or charge more. So far, I like Crashplan.

The last thing I will add in the near future is a 4TB USB drive to hang off of the MY Cloud drive for incremental archival backups.

I spent about $400 for the NAS drive, about $50 per year for the cloud backup. I anticipate a 4TB USB drive will be in the $130 to $170 range.

Best,
Alan

Mouse into the bottom left corner until it disappears.
Now right click your mouse.
You will now see a pop up of 18 options from Desktop to Programmes and Features.
This is a far quicker method than using the Metro screen.

WIN-X also produces this helpful menu.

Adobe CC now offers millions of stock images, free for the use of subscribers. Although I'm not a subscriber, I got a pop-up about that this morning.

I am a CC subscriber and I am seeing "Limited-time offer: Get 10 free Adobe Stock images. Ends 11/30".

You can subscribe through a variety of plans (e.g. $29.99 for CC subscribers).

This is where CC took me: http://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/stock.html#

In the video the big sheet was cut with a circular saw. But, the key is that the cut need not be perfect if you use the outside edge as your fence. It will be "factory square".

If your alone how do you rip a 4x8 sheet on a table saw?

With the thin board you don't need t measure the distance from the edge of the saw to the edge of the saw blade. You just line up the thin board with your saw line. Mush more accurate then measuring every time.

But why? When I clamp a board to guide the saw, the cut will be straight. So the only advantage here is having that thin board on the line? If I start the blade on the line and have the guide board in place, my cut will be straight. That's been working for me for years.

I spent many happy hours, literally "Happy Hours" at the Shutesbury Athletic Club! Just down the road from Lake Wyola.

Many thanks for commenting and including the links. It's a great area to visit and take pictures. My granddaughter spent this past Summer working on a farm in Shutesbury (she attends Mt Herman).

I love the photos. I used to live in Shutesbury, at the top of the ridge, looking over the Quabbin.

Turns out there are four villages underwater there! You can see more at these Web sites:

Nice! Had a great time as usual. Once a year or so I sail to Baltimore for a baseball game with my family. Walk off HR in the 9th that night!

Here is a photograph of the harbor in the morning as I was leaving.

Thank you. A little luck didn't hurt either. I was at a marina with floating docks. When I say floating, I mean moving (mostly up and down). So keeping things relatively in focus was a challenge.
