And you thought your emissions were safe from further examination.

When my D90 decided to misbehave, instead of the significant repair bill, i invested in a D7200. A VERY good choice.

You know, mother in law jokes are always funny but I am glad to say that I got along well with mine even if she was German. She was Swabish, southern Germany and the Swabs can be stubborn as a mule. I ought to know. I am married to one. (:

I had a very good relationship with my mother-in-law. We didn't have a language in common.

Looking at it from this side of the pond, when we consider the backgrounds of both POTUS and FLOTUS we know which one we prefer.
As many have said over here, the demonstrations were about the Person and not the Office.
We tremble as to what Finland will bring.

Using a Sandisk micro SD in a Sandisk adaptor, That's what I thought.
Ah, well, it's not as if they cost a lot. Thankfully.

And so, the finale. I put the micro card into its adaptor, and put it in slot 2. On the top display I saw a card symbol underneath the card 1 symbol. No number. I formatted the card in the camera. No change. So I asked Nikon support what was going on. Their answer:

I can confirm that the D7200 has only been tested and approved for use with SD cards and cannot confirm correct operation with micro SD cards in adaptors. Please see the link below for listings of sizes and makes tested.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this and if you have any other queries for Nikon in the future please do not hesitate to contact us again.

So that didn't help say WHY it didn't work. It looks like I will have to get a full size SD card if I want to use the second slot.

From my point of view, unless there is a VERY good reason to use the micro card itself, it ALWAYS stays in the adaptor.
Previous phone used micro card (in a holder), so that's the only reason I found so far.

No, I meant if you place the adaptor side by side with the micro SD card, it seems the micro card is half the length of the adaptor.

Just to add to the conversation, the full size card is a Sandisk Ultra SDHC Class 10 at 48MB/s. The micro SD is a Sandisk Ultra AI Class 10 and says speed up to 98 MB/s.
I haven't had any problem so far with the first card, so the micro shouldn't cause any problems, I hope.
Incidentally, it looks like the micro SD card only goes into the adaptor about half way.

I have been given a nearly new 16GB micro SD card (plus adaptor).
Is there any reason why I should not use this in the second slot of my D7200? Or should I only use a full size one?

In English (and American) grammar books it defines twelve tenses.
However, there is a thirteenth that you must all be aware of, it's called the 'future indefinite'.

Very simple to demonstrate.

Darling, how much longer will you be?
Five minutes. <- here
You said that ten minutes ago!
