That explains a lot Ron. I think CS5 is the difference. I understand the meaning of ACR but is it different from DDP? If so, where did you get ACR? You have apparently solved the problem. I made some change in the setup or preferences ('m not sure sure where now) that seems to have solved my problem and I can now make and save changes in CS3. Thanks for your help. I feel better knowing someone else had experienced the same problem.

I can get files into Bridge direct from my camera flash card but they do not open IN BRIDGE. When I click "open" they try to open in photoshop by default. My version CS3 cannot open raw files. Therefore, I cannot save from Bridge. What version software are you using?

Thanks Bob. Tried that and still no solution. I can "unlock" and/or duplicate but the layer still will not save.

Maybe I wasn't clear initially. I can "unlock" the layer, duplicate the layer, but still cannot save any changes. The popup msg still says "locked," go to properties in windows explorer. But Thanks for the suggestion.

I am frustrated and apologize if this is a repeat question. I shoot in RAW. No matter how I process the files (in lightroom or PPD) when in photoshop the layer (File) is locked. Then whether locked or unlocked I cannot save further changes even as "Save As" in different location or name. Can anyone solve this problem for me?

Has it ever been stated that the moons surface is the result of asteroid collisions? Just wondering.....

Yep! Sure looks like you have found your niche. Great sharp shots, Tom. Enjoyed looking.

I suppose some find criticism but I think these are SUPER closeup shots, especially of such small and fast subjects. Good work Tom!

This IS low key lighting! The shadow density is a personal choice. To me, the shadow density helps to narrow the face, where a lighter tone or more fill would broaden the face. This choice would seem to flatter and is a good choice in this case. Good job! Even tougher to do when one can't see the effect before hitting the trigger.

Thanks for the link. This really gave me an understanding of the histogram and made it more usable for me!

This is certainly an acceptable image for most people. Only the very picky or "pro" would criticize this one.

A few months ago, I started getting highlighted words that linked to advertising. Then that stopped. I see it's started again. Has anyone else noticed that, or is it just me?

Couldn't help but notice! Wonder if that is financial aid for this site OR is it being hacked? Can Admin advise?....Just reviewed this post and found the resulting ad is directly tied to related words!!!!!

Aside from the orange tint, the 3-D effect is truly super. Very good job.
