Yes, After looking at the thickness of the stork bill compared to the Egret, I have come to that conclusion too. Thanks.. We don't have egrets that look anything like this in Florida. Awesome!!

I just noticed also that the bill is much thicker on the Wood Stork.

Note around the lower neck. Very clean cut between the black coloration's and the white. That could tell the story in comparison to either bird. Would be interesting to know for sure... Tena

This looks like a Wood Stork to me. I can see from the head of the bird. Here is my shot of a Wood Stork. Tena

I do a lot of food photography for restaurants. I agree, you need to shoot it at an angle. You also have too much natural light there on one side.. Also use a tripod.

Comments?

Thank you.. It was one of those quick shots. Didn't even know if it would turn out because my camera was waving around trying to keep up with him. LOL

I'm not sure how to get back into the pictures I've already posted to change title and add info. Anyway these are the details: I used my Canon 50D at 1/800 Sec., F 7.1, ISO 500, 200 mm. Canon lens. He didn't stay in one spot for very long so I didn't have much time to think about what setting I should use. It turned out okay anyway.

Have no idea how to get to the page where I can correct the title of that picture.

Zeena, your second picture looks more like a Cooper's Hawk. I don't think it is another Osprey...but it's a good picture of a Cooper's. (smile)

Zeena,
I love Roseate Spoonbill photos and art. The face on photo you posted is unique and one of the best I've ever seen. I've gotten a couple of shots of them at Avery Island (Home of McHillenny Tabasco) in Louisiana, but nothing this good.
Beautiful!
Rocco
