Re c*****e c****e, most people can't be bothered to educate themselves, using a large variety of sources of huge amounts of information that take time and an open mind to digest, of a very complicated subject that affects the entire earth in countless ways.

Your opening proves my point.

There is no doubt that c*****e c****e is happening, ice core plugs drilled and taken from thousands of years back confirmed the change, I don’t think anyone with half a brain can deny it. The problem is that the salutions being tried to r****d the speed at which it’s happening are being shoved down our throats by politicians and their rich donors and not unbiased scientists.
You sound a lot smarter than the rest of us, please explain to us simpletons your solution that will save the world.

At least the frequency and intensity of wildfires has little or nothing to do with c*****e c****e. It has to do with government policy that suppressed fire for 75 years and then in the early 80s to early 90s stopped thinning forests that they had replanted.

Those forests have too many trees per acre, making them susceptible to drought, insects and disease. In addition several of the recent major forest fires were caused by power wires causing sparks when they came in contact with trees, or metal power line towers, all caused by poor maintenance of the power grid.

Those fires would have occurred with or without c*****e c****e. As to floods, that is also suspect as one of the main reasons that we are getting so much flood damage is how many people are building in flood plains and a second reason is that we have destroyed wetlands. Once again, nothing directly related to c*****e c****e.

Then there is your assertion about hurricanes. If you go back and look at the historical data we are currently having fewer major hurricanes, not more.

Perhaps you should look at the facts before popping off. Not saying that c*****e c****e isn't occurring. Not saying that people might not be causing part of the problem. Just saying that the alarmist rhetoric coming from environmentalists is not supported by facts.

I recently watched a short report that a gov't agency (?EPA?) reporting on climate temperature changes had placed 85% of their thermometers improperly; e.g., on roofs, parking lots, sidewalks, near A/C exhaust outlets, etc. all in city environments. Very few were placed in rural area or in non- city environments. I guess that's one way to manufacture a crisis. What say you, John Kerry?

The green movement needs to scare the general public to sway politicians so as to obtain lucrative federal funds for their movement projects.

Hey guys, how do you like the "new" shortened zippers on your jeans? I curse the z%$#& (probably female) bean counter who decided shorten the zipper on my jeans by 1 1/2 inches in order to save a few cents every time I try to get my hand in there to do what it has to do. I don't have a big hand, I take a medium glove but I can't get more than two or three finger in there and sometimes the extra time it takes is too much. I would gladly pay ten times what they have saved to get a full length zipper back. It seems that many manufacturers are now getting on the bandwagon. What can we do?

Glad you brought this up, I bought a couple pairs of jeans from Academy a while back and have had trouble with the short zippers ever since. Just took a ruler and checked the measurement between them and a pair of my 505 Levi’s and they are 2 inches shorter. The Levi’s are 8 inches and the Magellans are 6 inches, and the bottom of the Magellan pockets almost reach my knees. They should take the money that they would save on pocket material and invest in to longer zippers.

Problems are due to drivers that don't know how to use an EV in a cold environment. EV's are very popular in Norway. They're exposed to low temperatures quite often, yet they do not have issues with EV's.

The licensing fee should be four times as much as a ICV vehicle.
Why?
Simple, road repair and upkeep need to go on wither or not it an EV or an ICE vehicle.
ICE vehicles cover that with the taxes on their fuel.
EV's don't.

They should be taxed at the charging stations, including their home car chargers, equivalent to fuel taxes on non EV cars.

Older cars ,before computers, you could disconnect the ground wire while the car was still running to test the alternator. Doing this to newer cars will damage the computer system.

I just found out that the Chiefs playoff game tonight will only be available via streaming Peacock. I gotta say that this really makes me mad, as I don't have Peacock and don't even have a way to stream it on my big screen tv even if I did sign up for it. Frankly, I see this as a move toward having to pay to watch all sports and hope they have a very poor response and that others are upset about this as well. It was bad enough that the Thursday night games were restricted, but everyone should get to see the playoff games and they make plenty of money putting them on network TV. Is this really the future of sports on TV?

Have you seen the massive mining operations that are required to harvest all the minerals required to make e-cars usable? Where is the electricity coming from to charge all these cars -- from f****l f**l plants! Electric cars are a band-aid placed over a wound that will keep bleeding. If we are serious about reducing greenhouse gasses, we need to be building more nuclear power plants and developing hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the solar system, does not require scaring the earth with mining, and produces only water coming from a tailpipe in autos. One company (I believe Toyota) has built a car that uses something like nine hydrogen cylinders in a line across the back of the car. To refuel, a panel is lifted on the rear of the car and one or all of the cylinders can be easily removed and a new one inserted. I know the technology about how to produce large amounts of hydrogen is not ready for the consuming public just yet, but I contend neither is electric.

No one is addressing the downside of an all-electric fleet of autos. As people earlier in this post have pointed out, a lot of people are becoming disenchanted with electric vehicles and I believe that trend will continue.

It took many years before gasoline cars completely overtook the horse and buggy for road t***sportation for similar reasons. Gas stations were probably not as conveniently located in the early days . . . but we eventually overcame that and gasoline powered cars became the norm. I believe this will again happen when electric charging stations conveniently located become the norm. The "bugs" in some of the early electric cars will be fixed. And "hopefully" all this effort will result in cleaner air and environment.

Charging stations are a minor problem compared to a electric grid being supplied by g***n e****y, which ain’t gonna happen. So it’s like the dog chasing its tail, none polluting EV’s being charged by fossil burning generators…
