Thanks for your comments. The site was a 1800's grist mill that I scouted out a week ahead of time, photos were of a friend's daughter and her buddies. About 300 other kids and parents showed up at the same place for photo shoots. There were a couple of professional photographers there also. So at least I picked a good spot. I had a lot of fun with the girls & will do it again if asked.

There are so many too choose from maybe someone can help. The two I have been looking at is a Kata or a Tenba. I like the Tenba more but not sure. I want a pack for Sports where I can be shooting, change lens easly, carry rain gear and be able to check on a plane and carry two bodies, at least three lens with one being a 70 to 200 zoom. Carry a laptop 15 inch would be great.
Today, the choices and competing features/advantages are almost endless.
And like tripods, if you remain active in photography you will end up with several, each with its pros and cons.
But only you can determine what best meets your needs, feels comfortable, and is easy to access while carrying what you want to carry (which will also change and evolve with technology and your preferences).

After being in photography for more than 50 years, this is a piece of equipment that remains more personal than anything else.

My Best advice:
1) Try before you buy (us a local dealer)
2) Ask others not just what they use but why the like it, what they wish was different/better and what else have they tried.
3) Be prepared to own several; if you are lucky they will each have a specialized use or occasion.

But of you end up like most of us, a couple of back packs will sit in the closet mocking you along with your herd of tripods and gaggle of aging camera bags. Sigh....

My dog became ill after we opened a new package of Beggin Strips by Purina - a Nestle co.
Either they changed the formula or the ingredients were contaminated.
The package said made in USA but did not indicate the country of origin of the ingredients.
There have been several other products, from Nestle companies that seem deceptively labeled.
After my dog got sick on another of their products, I wrote them and they sent some coupons - not what I was after.
I wanted them to assure me that the item was not from China but not a peep about that or the sickness of my dog, it was just a cut and paste form letter.
Watch out for Purina but also other Nestle brands.
Alpo, Beneful, Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Fancy Feast, Felix, Friskies, Go Cat, Butchers, Bakers, Winalot, Gourmet, Mighty Dog, Mon Petit, ONE, Pro Plan, Purina, Tidy Cats
It is not only Nestle/Purina. I read every label at Costco.
Beware, it may be pets today and poisoned people tomorrow.

We only use Canidae. High quality dog food. Most of them are full of the worst crap in the world and a lot that comes from China.

Check out the WELLNESS brand of dog food. www.wellnesspetfood.com made in USA. My Lab developed so kind of protein allergy and the vet told us to feed a single source protein food. Her constant scratching has stopped.

Sarge good info. I agree we all complain about the the imported stuff but still go to Wal-Mart and buy it because it saves us money. For the past five years I have read the labels on every thing I buy, one for health (trying to avoid added sugars, and preservatives) reasons the other is I try to support domestic local products. There are now so many products imported it's hard to even find American made stuff. Look at electronic products TV's, computers, cellphones and even bluejeans. We all bitch about unemployment while purchasing the very items from abroad that used to be produced here.

Young teens before Home Coming dance. About a week early one of the moms ask me to find a location. I found a 1890's grist mill that was perfect. Told them where to meet me at 5:00 as sunset was at 6:45pm. I got to the location at 4pm just to give me plenty of time. Suprise, there was about 400 teens and parents with the same idea including several groups with professional photographers. Of course the 3 girls I was waiting on did not shot till 6:10. I enjoyed watch the pros work and it seemed that nobody got in each others way too much.

I agree with you, but I guess it probably is age related. We are from a different generation when things didn't work right you repaired or tuned them up. Now everything is throw it away and buy a new one. I have target rifles and pistols that are 50 years old and still am able to compete with them. It's the 70 year old eyes that are my weak point.

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and am using PSE10, Light Room 4.1.& CS6 and have not suffered any ill effects. However I did have to buy a newer version of MS Word as my 97 would not work. Running on a Mac Power Book Pro. It takes some getting used to. Don't see a whole lot of advantage to changing.
