I'll let you all decide what Hawk this is.
It was on a branch about 10 feet above the ground and allowed me to walk right up and he sat there and posed for at least a half hour. I shot over 100 photos. Other than staring at me he didn't seem to mind at all. This shot is cropped in half then enhanced up in Lightroom but it is the original shot with nothing photoshopped in and just a couple of odd branches photoshopped out.

Appreciate the comments however,,, It's a juvenile Red Shoulder Hawk
The stare went on for quite some time.
I was grateful for the poses.
Thought this was an attractive angle.
Sony A 7 II
Sigma 70 MM Macro
f4, 1/320 sec, ISO 100
This shot was the same day as two of my previous posts.
The Crested Caracara and the Flying Osprey..
So.. quite a day and there is a couple more to come
color correcting is just not an option financially just now..so..I'm shooting and getting deeper into Photoshop . Thanks
Finally...took a bit of practice.. he had just lifted off out of a tree right above me
Yes Ft. Myers, which is outside the zone on all the maps I have seen
For all of those commenting about my statement concerning the quality of the Sony 24-240 lens...
The shot of the Caracara was the day before yesterday.
This shot was yesterday with a Sigma 70 MM.
Same crop both photos. Minor global Light Room edits only on both photos. I was at half the distance to this Red Shoulder Hawk but it is half the size or less than the Caracara.
I'm not trying to start anything here but the difference, to me, is rather significant... just sayin
I was driving home and it flew across my line of view so I turned to follow.
It landed 40 feet from the road.
Of course..... I have the absolute worse lens with me.
Its a Sony 24 - 240 and its anything but sharp, chromatic aberration and noise are absurd. I use it for drive by real estate inspections where quality is not a concern and the zoom factor works out well.
I had never seen one and it took me a good half hour online to figure out what it was so thought I would share.
Its a member of the Falcon family.
