I appreciate all of the feedback and the variety of possible solutions. It was a good topic!

For now I am going with a RAVPower 32000mAh Power Bank 6A Output which will give me around 13 full recharges of my en-el15a batteries figuring in a 20% loss of power from time and in the transfer process. I will also have a charger for the camera battery with a cigarette lighter adapter. I am also getting a USB cig lighter adapter to recharge the power bank.

If your wanting the same edits contained within an action to apply to 50 different photographs then you need software that will process a batch of pictures in an identical manner automatically. I think Lightroom has this facility.

The "why" isn't important, just want to know if it's possible, same image, just trying to avoid manually starting the action a lot of times...

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to have an action repeat a specific number of times (such as 50) at a specific interval (such as every 5 seconds)?

Thank you,
Dave

That looks like a good option.

I would rather not depend on the sun and clear skies. Many years ago when I had the "state of the art" Hi 8 video camera, I had a belt battery pack and a solar charger for a remote raft trip in the Yukon. It did work fine as long as the sun was out.

It's the D850 and I will have about 8 batteries and hundreds of GB of XQD and SD cards. I just want something that can give me a better chance of not running out of batteries. It is hard to know for sure how many photos I will be taking, how many sequences of stacking, how much I will use live view, what the temperature will be etc. Also, without a normal power supply I won't be able to use a laptop for backup of photos either.

Dave,
Mongolia according to Google, uses 220 V has an advantage over lower voltage such as the 110 V that it is cheaper to transmit. On the other hand, 220 V is more dangerous than lower voltages. The plugs used in Mongolia are C or E. Moreover you can use a universal plug adapter or converter.

I would contact your travel company in Mongolia to address your concern as to how to ytavel your batteries.

My question is about how to charge batteries in a vehicle, not in a motel room.

A ger is what nomadic families in Mongolia live in, pretty much like a Yurt.

I have to check on the vehicle voltage. It will most likely be a Russian van.

Hello,

My wife and I will be taking a trip this September in remote western Mongolia. It will be a combination of pack trip and driving but staying in tents or gers. The point is I don't think any power will be available. Has anyone tried either of these products to recharge camera batteries? Any input on how well they work or other options would be appreciated.

I had great luck in November, ordered from a local camera store here in Colorado and received it 1 week later. Have been enjoying it ever since!

So I now have completely opposite opinions, don't know what is correct...

Hello everyone,

I have received notice of an update for my Nikon D850. This is something I have not done in the past so I am concerned that any settings I have changed in the menus might not be carried forward with an update. Do I need to be concerned with this? Please share your knowledge and experience with doing updates. (I searched for firmware updates but found nothing recent)

Thanks,
Dave
