So there we have it officially then from Mike. US citizens are more prepared to put up with the annual school massacre rather than introduce any controls that reduce them if they impinge in any way on their gun possession rights. Good luck folks.

Well that condition restricts it to a pretty small number I guess.

My wife has just happened to read through some of these postings and asked me why I argued with idiots when they would eventually drag me down to their level and then beat me with their experience. Of course she is perfectly right, I had just failed to spot it.

If the evil men, as you call them found it far more difficult to get the guns, as they do in other countries, the problems would be far less, but from your responses, I cannot expect you to undertand this basic logic. So just keep handing out the guns and accept the deaths, proving beyond all doubt how little you do actually care. You make all the right noises, but then do abolsutely nothing.

I will never fail to be amazed at the pathetic coments that are being made here attempting to justify the unjustyable, when the sad fact is none of them are addressing the main problem you and no other country has and that is the problem of school massacres. It is so obvious from most of your responses, that as I thought, you gun slingers just don't care about them. So sad really

That is absolute rubbish. Analyse the facts. My research indicates that none of the perpetrators of these killings would have been classed as criminals before carrying out the massacres they did.

You just don't get it do you? The bottom line is that the USA is the only country in the World with such ridiculous laws relating to gun possession. It is also the only country in the World that has a succession on school massacres. It is sickening that no one there makes the obvious connection and stops this cycle of killings. You seem resigned to merely put up with this dreadful situation attempting to justify it with some outdated constitutional point. You seem to ignore the fact that such slaughter does not happen elsewhere in the World because the laws relating to gun possession almost always ensure that unstable people cannot get their hands on firearms. This is not the case in the USA and it is sickening that all you do is try to justify the situation by throwing up smoke screens with verbose statements and diatribe, but fail to address the obvious, clear and basic problem you have in your own country concerning gun possession.

This of course is the ultimate response from one trying to defend the indefensible when they realise their argument is totally lost.

If the 'others' are 'bad guys' as you state it proves how stupid your laws are to allow them to be armed. A feature of your recent massacres is that almost all the perpetrators seemed to be in legal possession of the guns they used to kill so many innocents. This seems to be the most shocking feature in your recent massacres.
If you are going to use UK crime figures, have the decency to use the most recent and the intelligence to understand the UK recording system gives a totally false impression when used to compare crime rates between countries.
Even if you were vaguely right in your comments, there no claim that to be armed would alter anything. again proving how stupid the claims I have read here by gun supporters are.
Even where I am now in South Africa that has seen the worst apartheid violence and now horrible murders related to drugs, etc in the Townships there is no demand to be armed, the firearms laws here being virtually identical to the UK.
Listening to you and your ilk trying to defend the indefensible is a most pathetic exercise, but one we unfortunately have to put up with, along no doubt with future massacres

Many of these Yanks are getting totally confused between the bad guys with guns and the others who can easily access guns as a result of their stupid laws, like the ones usually responsible for these regular massacres obtain them. The gun supporters are so up their own arses, they cannot see the true picture and even if they could, don't want to acknowledge it.

Most photographic mags publish technical data alongside pictures they show as I guess, their readers will be interested. However, I wonder how many people viewing the Mona Lisa wonder how de Vinci mixed the paint, what the structure of the paint was or the sizes of the brushes he used to apply the paint. I guess perhaps only painters wonder about this, whereas the rest if us are happy to merely view it on artistic merits. Perhaps at the end of the day photographic pictures may be seen similarly.

Pepper, I have spent loads of time in America so know exactly what I'm talking about. I have also spent a great deal of time in loads of other countries, none of which have such strange and antiquated gun laws and beliefs as the USA. Of those nuts that claim a right to have a gun, I never yet met one I would trust to shoot one effectively even if it was justified. Other countries manage perfectly well without such nonsensical beliefs that their lives would be in peril if they did not bear arms. I guess those supporting bearing arms have no idea how stupid they are seen by so many of those from other countries.

Many of us in the UK think your gun laws are nuts along with many of the people that carry them. For what it's worth, while such nutty laws exist, rather than access to bullet proof vests being restricted, I think all Americans ought to be obliged by law to wear them at all times when they are not at home. Your problem in the area of these sort of shooting incidents is becoming too sick to contemplate and you do absolutely nothing about it. Your Constitution on this point stinks.
