We had some huge swells last Friday, an amazing sight to see how they crushed into the rock cropping's offshore sending spray up hundreds feet high into the air. Here are 3 shots taken within about 10 seconds, watch the progression of the birdie.- Not even the suicidal surfers showed up that day. [/quotes

Oops - wrong Hog. The feedback was for you, Mike.

Dramatic seascapes, Jim. Nice work on these captures.

I took his picture about 8 years ago. She had this great look in her eyes and on her face which makes me wonder what was she thinking about when I caught this candid shot.

This is how old I am - see? Ava is adorable and your capture is well done, mper.

A beautiful day here yesterday warmed to 80. I went for a motorcycle ride with my boyfriend. We stopped by a lake and took a walk along the shoreline. I saw this interesting dead tree with the roots exposed. I thought the roots looked like the legs of an alligator, like something out of a horror or sci-fi movie and it might attack us. My boyfriends response was "what have you been smoking". Thought I would post it to see if anyone else sees what I did. It isn't much to look at, nothing special.

It doesn't take much imagination to turn a harmless tree into a wild creature lurking toward you. My advice is - run as fast as you can - he looks vicious!
I do like this capture. samantha.
I took many versions of that shot....my favorite was the extreme closeup of the stem with the sunset reflected in it. No one would know what it was of course, but it kind of spoke to me.....the second shot had flash reflections which I didn't like and the first one kind of looks like it's floating in the water...all kind of fun![/quo

Correction in my first response. Mean to say no DISTRACTIONS. Sorry. Guess my brain was on sleep mode.

I like the first image. No detractions - it stands alone. Who knew you could have so much fun with a sunset and glass?! Thank you, phi

A cold and cloudy day when I shot this bird in our front yard.

800mm shot. Hand held. Bird was 25-35 feet away.

It doesn't matter what you aim your camera at, Regis, you come up with a great image when you press the shutter. You A-ced the Starling.

Here are some shots taken between December and January.
We have about 3ft of snow at the moment, icicles like you wouldn't believe, and plenty of critters running around.
I generally shoot on Aperture mode, RAW, and tweak in Lightroom.
Most of these are "Lucky shot" types, where I have no idea how I managed to get them. I usually use the lowest F-stop and have no idea how to set up a camera.
Taken with the standard Canon lens that came with the Canon EOS 550D.
I have been told to "upgrade" my camera, but I honestly think the 550D is superb -- and easy for me to work with. (Plus it doesn't weigh a ton!)
I do need to invest in a tripod though. The one I have...is a wobbly affair. :)

Great shots, Silke! I love your images of the horses. Never mind how you got these - just keep doing it.
