P.S. The standard USA-warranty packages are the same as what you would buy at your local retailer. Those are what you want.
David,
Shop by price, but look carefully at offers which seem much lower than mainline shops. A lot of the low-ball price shops sell non-USA warranty items, intended for foreign markets, in addition to the standard USA warranty packages, which you definitely don't want unless you're a camera tech and can fix it yourself. Also, they repackage the goods and sell the factory packaged accessories separately.
They also create "packages" with a bunch of either truly useless or junk stuff added to boost the price. Buy the camera you want, then add only what you need for what you want to do.
The mainline retailers such as B&H, Adorama, and many others don't do these kinds of deceptive deals.
Jeff,
For what its worth...cards are pretty inexpensive, and so are USB card readers that read multiple types of cards. The CF and the SD cards have radically different pin arrangements, which means the adapter will add two layers of potential connection issues, which can cause degraded or no signal transfer between camera and card.
It's a little like adding close-up or telephoto add-ons to the front of your prime lens...it can work, but the potential for problems increases exponentially.
I'm retired now, so I can spend more time with my photography. I love fall colors, landscapes, textures and small critter macro.
