A few more images from last week and the weeks before. Last week was the toughest weather we have ever endured. We had four days of heavy snow, so lots of snowy bison images. The bobcat made an appearance twice, but really too far across the river to make a photo. Oh, and the day it did not snow, we had a cold rain all day, but the troops still did well photographing moody scenes in the geyser basins, like the last two in this set.

Very nice captures, John. Perfect composition, focus & lighting. If we had a blue ribbon smiley, I'd give one to the wolf.

Here are a few shots of a female pileated woodpecker feeding her young that I took last summer. Pileated woodpeckers do not feed their young whole prey. Instead they partially digest the grubs and insects (primarily ants) that they eat and regurgitated the food for the chicks. It's a rather violent and messy affair. Enjoy!

Interesting information and fantastic images, Mr. B. The young look almost savage as they attempt to get their food. You must have been thrilled to see and photograph this unique scene.

Well we visited Joshua Tree for the first time and I must say it was amazing, loved every minute of it. I am posting a few fun photo's we took, sadly my sd card crashed when I was downloading the photo's and I lost a bunch.

It does look like an amazing place, Rena. There are strange formations on this earth and your capture of this one is superb.
