This waterfall was along side the river I was kayaking in today. Not a lot of water but unusual for central North Carolina. Hard to take slow shutter pictures sitting in a kayak hand held.

In spite of the difficulty, you did a splendid job capturing the picturesque falls. I enjoyed the viewing these images, KayakingUSA.

Got to visit with one of the neighbors and get a few shots in.

Great work on these birds, Bill. I've never seen a picture of a black bird that I felt was anything to brag about but I'm impressed with the shot you got.

Today's ride was coolish, very enjoyable! We visited the old Belmont Mine which is always a fun ride, the just did some exploring.

There's nothing like the beauty of the desert. I find it quite strange to see a cow in the scene. I love that shot. Thanks for sharing these very nice captures, RE.

Early morning frost/fog in Yellowstone National Park this past weekend. As the sun continued to penetrate the crisp, cold atmosphere the bison began to magically appear. Absolutely beautiful in person.

I'm disappointed you didn't favor us with more images of your Yellowstone Morning. Frank. This image is just a 'teaser.' You captured a magic moment.

I wanted to test my new sigma art 24-105 and my Bengal likes to attack my shoes and tries to get attention. So I tested the lens on him.
Shot in raw did not do much so play with them if you want.
Cheers Ron

A fun series, Ron! I love your beautiful Bengal.

Welcome to FREE SUNDAY, thank you Judy & Irene for your Challenges. A few new avatars here, welcome aboard folks, you guys are sure good. Here we post photos of the past week's Challenges that you might not have posted OR, post your best photos of the week OR, post whatever got you through the night,,,,It is FS after all

You have my sympathy, Roadrunner. I have been pasting an endless assortment of pictures in albums. It's a daunting task. I've advised the young
photographers in my family - date your print, put names on the print, put it in an album. Lurking somewhere in the distance there's a time when the last picture will be pasted if I'm patient and persistent it may come to pass.

Well not really fields, but about half of our backyard has been taken over by wild strawberry plants.
Don't know where they came from, but they started showing up after we buried one of our cats there, that passed away late last year.
These plants are very small and the flowers on them are tiny. The petals on them are maybe an 1/8 of an inch long, if that.
It was a beautiful day today, 67 degrees and sunny for a change.
I got these images using my Nikon D90 and the Nikor 60mm micro lens. All were taken handheld, using AF.
Hope you enjoy them!

Excellent capture of the unique blossoms, Soul Dr. I've never seen any flora like them.

Went back up to Stanwood for what will likely be my last visit to Eide Road for short-eared owls this season. Not because I'll never go back, but because the "owl season" is winding down, and the activity level is dropping. I was happy to get some nice shots this afternoon...

This one, coming straight at me, full-frame, no cropping...

I spent five nights in Sedona and, fortunately, had a friend who had been there several times as my guide........so didn't take advantage of a Jeep Tour. The picture of Bell Rock was enhanced greatly with Lightroom as it was heavily backlit and engulfed in shadows. Bell Rock was shot with a Canon 5D Mk III /w a Sigma 15mm, f2.8 fisheye lens.

All other pics were shot w/ a Canon 5D Mk III, Canon 6D, Canon 17-40 f4L, and a Tamron 28-300. The Tamron is a great lens for travel due to it's light weight and good results.

Comments and criticism welcomed. Thanks for viewing.

Your Sedona scenics are magnificent, One Easy Rider. Many years ago I waded into the creek to get a shot of Cathedral Rock. At that time it was captured in slides. Thanks for sharing these enjoyable images.

Beautiful and loving cat! I'm sure the three will all be happy together...in time. I have 3 cats myself. Two were born under a wood pile at different times. The first I took in the house because "I wanted a cat; my previous one had passed away." So, she became the "Queen". Then when I discovered the 2nd cat...wondering helplessly with no mother or siblings in sight, in my back yard (she was about 6 weeks old)...I took her in.

Then a friend called me to let me know she had a large litter of kittens that had been found and she was trying to "farm" them out. I took one of them. So now I have 3 cats. The Queen ("Fluffy") wants to continue being the "boss!!!". My 2nd cat ("Rudi") is a charm. She allows Fluffy to boss her around; but because of that...Rudi gets most of my attention; and I scold Fluffy when I see her growling at or smacking Rudi. These two are females! (Yes, female behaviors!!!)

The 3rd cat is a male. I don't have a name for him yet, as I thought he was a she when I took him. So, I'm trying to think of a good name before I take him to the vet for his shots and all. I'm thinking "Cali" after the very tyrannical Roman emperor Caligula. If Cali, I know he will have to fight for his space with these two females...Fluffy for sure!

In the two pictures I'm sending, can you see how sweet and loving they "can be!"... (Rudi on the left and Fluffy on the right). But...you can also see how irritated and bothered they can be...especially if a new can is introduced!
Beautiful and loving cat! I'm sure the three will... (show quote)

Gorgeous kitties, cthomps! Being the independent critters they are, you will be entertained by their escapades. I hope you'll favor us with more pictures of Fluffy and Rudi and - is it gonna be Cali? How 'bout Caesar?
