Its been awhile since I posted.. I took this today and something about this photo is so captivating to me I just love how it came out! Wanted to see if others thought so too.

Every time I see a leaf on some rocks, I shoot it. Just something about it that says 'take my picture.' So I agree - it's captivating. Nice work on your capture, ripple.

Grandson Sam delivering pancakes at his Boy Scout's Troop 154 Pancake Breakfast yesterday morning. Next week he'll have his head shaved, for the 8th consecutive year at St. Baldricks fund drive for kids cancer research. He has raised almost $25,000 over a period of 8 years. So very proud of him!!

Finally had a clear sky to get out and shoot some shots today.
No trick photography was used in this image. Maybe just a little imagination!

Download for better viewing.

Very funny, Phil. I think this is a case of pareidolia with a mix of imagination. Whatever. I made me smile.

This is not my normal type of photo work using bounce flash and indoors this was one of my grandson who just turned one year old. I thought i would take some snap shots and practice a little to increase my skill level. Thanks for looking saying hello from Pittsburgh. P.S. His parents wanted to wait to cut his hair after his first birthday

This cute little boy is a charmer. Your images are well done. The skin tone is perfect - tack sharp focus. Love all the expressions. Thanks for sharing, Joe.

This little mallard hen has found her perfect spot, to take a nap.
I also tried different treatments and ended up with similar results. The only three things the same were lens correction, cropping and using clone in PS to get rid of blown out areas to the top left and top center.
#1 She has found her spot, a lot of clone and then tweak the highlights etc to make her feathers look even better than they did.
#2 Turning her head, basically the same stuff as #1 but cloned from different parts of the background before I cropped
#3 Bill tucked in feathers just before she closed her eyes, cloned from yet different areas and then only used the LR healing brush and Effects haze slider instead of the individual tweaks.
I was mainly interested in the beautify of here feather patterns, and couldn't decide which head position to use, so here are all three.
Focus was on head/eye and DOF not deep enough for the nearest feathers to be as sharp as the head and part of the back.
This little mallard hen has found her perfect spot... (show quote)

Delightful set, Robert!

The Milky Way over Big Cypress Preserve.
'Twas a beautiful morning in the Big Cypress Preserve. At 4:30 this morning, no wind, and while a tad chilly, there were NO, absolutely NO mosquitoes.
The Milky Way, blended with the rising sun to create a scene well worth staying up to see.

Please view the download.
Thanks for looking.

Nikon D810, 24-70mm lens at 24mm. 4000 ISO, f2.8, 20 seconds

This is a 10 shot merger. All shots taken in the vertical position.

Wild is a good word for them, Annie! How did you do them??

I used SmartPhotoEditorStudio. It's free software. One of the Hogs told me about it. I had a hard time with it but fortunately one of my 'inmates' (HaHa) here at the Manor showed me the ropes as well as the Hog. It's fun - give it a try.
