Cool, Lake Michigan Early Morning Sunlight is the Best!

Unfortunately, we’ve found (Models & Photographer) that the Mosquitoes like it even more than we do… I’ve never shot an early morning on the lakeshore without everyone being eaten alive.

Try it when it's windy...

I'm with you about eyes!
Who said the eyes are the entry to the soul, or similar?

Picture by Horace Roye (interesting life, look him up)

In keeping with this theme, Horace Roye was one of the first photographers to challenge the law that prevented the showing of pubic hair, by publishing books where the models were not shaven or had the pictures 'touched up'.

How does one pick Adam, the original man from Genesis, in a line up? He is the one with the missing belly button.

Adam? Surely that should be Phil Collins? lol

I had to check this one out... have I got it right? (Note: article is dated Jun 2012, so she is NOT 52 today.)

yes, sort of. Even today there are still arguments about the origin of the picture:

I suspect removal of pubic hair probably had something to do with the way men viewed (or wanted to see) the female body. Personally I like a nice bush, i.e.: a real female and not some prepubescent 'child'! And yes, I'm also of that age before all the electronic nonsense of this age.

It is believed that removal of hair from a photographic point of view started from censorship times when it was deemed that sight of such pubic hair was deemed 'out of bounds'. The cunning photographers simply got round the rule by having their models shave it all off, or 'dodging' during printing, proving the saying 'the law is an ass'.
Removal of hair from a personal point of view goes back much further, and some religions practice it as a means of demonstrating 'cleanliness and purity'.

I used Sharpen, which did wonders, then tried denoise for the abdomen, no help. It sort of proves again, what I was taught, get it right in the camera! .

The only thing it tells me is that I don't do PS very well, and increase my admiration for the 'old photographers' who had to do all their adjustments in the darkroom, and do it very well too....

I am trying to figure out which option in PS allows you to smooth that out. Otherwise, I, personally, like the sharper image more, but, again, that is a personal choice.

I'd agree the head area is much sharper, but the (download) modification makes her abdomen and chest area look like orange peel? Which Topaz program are you using?

Whilst some areas are better/sharper, sadly Topaz has introduced some noise into the abdomen/chest area...

Perhaps a little ps with the shoulder area to define the body against the bright spot behind.
Am I right in thinking that this is a draw back with high ASA films causing bright spots?

nicely done DH, perhaps a bit more light needed on the feet. How old are these? I'm guessing they are scans from negatives?

cleverly set up, incorporating the wax run offs from the candles (are they real?), perhaps you might have cleaned up the stocking marks but some people will look at them as a plus, so what the heck. in general it's nicely done.
