When I read a post my main interest is it’s content. If not interested, I just move on to the next. People vary on every known dimension including writing composition, syntax, spelling, etc. I don’t see the value of unsolicited criticism of each others’ writing ability or style. Each of us could momentarily feel good by noting someone who does something less well, but to what end? If reading quality composition is one’s purpose, then join a writers’ forum.

O.K., wetflicker, your admonition does nothing to address the conversation. Try to concentrate.

"out of the goodness of his heart"? Are you kidding?

It was out of the neediness of his own self image. Boo Hoo😭😭😭

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you so, you must be right.

As a hobbiest the cost isn’t a loss. You can spend a lot more on other toys such as motorcycles, atvs, and boats.

Cameras don’t require registration, insurance, oil changes, or gas, and often get used more than other toys.

So do what adds to your happiness!

Gets it

Guns, I’m a wetland consultant, 30 years of walking the woods, I’ve never owned a gun, don’t have a problem with them, just whenever I’ve had the money for one I buy a “camera toy” instead. I’ve had three unusual encounters where maybe concealed carry would have been let’s say...comforting, I leave it to my staff if they wish to, 2 of them do, Eastern Coyotes have become a real safety issue around NEOhio. So it’s cool, whatever, right?

Lighten up, it’s easy to criticize, but it doesn’t elevate you in the eyes of others.
If you don’t like a post the decent thing is to ignore the post. The OP was sharing out of the goodness in his heart, your reply really added little to the conversation.

Do it! Of course you don’t need to rationally, but: someone with lesser means, and the same syndrome would surely love to acquire a nice used D810 🤡

Fmeh! What the heck, buy one have fun, your not making money with your pictures they may very well be shap enough for your purposes. BUT! Only get a 1.4x, a 2x may not allow sufficient light to pass for decent autofocus function. 1.4x’s are cheap on eBay, get a used even off brand to try out. Unless you’re shooting for 24x36 or publications no one but you will really know the difference. It’s a hobby, have fun!
