I have it and his field guide as well as a field guide from J. Dennis Thomas plus I purchased Michael The Maven's video and Scott Kelby's books. I'm having a problem with "what to photograph" and "composition". I am trying to use only manual control so I can learn A, S and ISO and Dof. It's a real challenge for me.

Congratulations! I love my D7100. It's more camera than I have skill for, however, I am trying very hard. I have not been brave enough to post any photos yet. There's lots of talent on UHH and lots of opinions. I read it daily and have for months.

I have the D7100 with the 18/200 and 3 other lenses. I have yet to switch out the lenses. I love it.

Venice is a great day trip. I have been there 6 times. Florence is "the" destination in Italy. With nine days you may be trying to do too much. Try to spend 4 days in Florence. Consider Verona with a day trip to Venice. Regardless you will have a great time and you will have great photo opportunities.

I am new to UHH and I am reluctant to jump in. This is an interesting discussion. I don't know where I fit in on the liberal/conservative issue. I don't want government to mandate what a woman can do with her body. We must take care of those that, for circumstances beyond their control, cannot take care of themselves. I believe in total equality. I don't think we can deport 20,000,000 illegal emigrants. I think the government must balance the budget or the nation will be bankrupt and we will all be in a world of hurt. I believe parents should be held accountable for their children's behavior and education. I left home when I was 16 and I was in basic training on my 17th birthday and I spent 7 years in the service of our country. I was in Viet Nam when I was 20. I worked my butt off for almost 50 years. No one gave me anything and I seized every opportunity that came my way. I saved every dime I could and stayed out of debt and payed my taxes. I didn't feel sorry for myself and I quite a few crappy jobs. The end result has been very rewarding and I will probably leave behind a large estate when I pass. I think people are responsible, for the most part, for their own state of affairs. Each person should be accountable and quit blaming others because they are lazy or found a way to cheat the system. Our nation was founded on hard work and opportunities. If I couldn't get a job in Pennsylvania or anywhere else, I would move to another city or state where I could find work (any work). I did exactly these things and never got a dime in help. I made myself valuable for whomever I worked and didn't look back. I kind of resent this split of conservative vs. liberal. We are all Americans and have to encourage others and find solutions to our problems.

Hi everyone, I'm David from Texas. I live in Midland and Lakeway and I'm retired. I am renewing myself to photography because I can't play golf anymore. I had a 6hcp when I was forced to quit. I have a Nikon D7100, 18-200 & 35mm glass. I use LR5 and Photoshop on my Mac's and Corel on my pc's. I'm happy to join your forum and I hope to learn from it. You seem like nice people and way ahead of where I am in photography. Many years ago I developed my own film (b&w) and really had a great time doing so. Thanks for having me.
