Was just browsing thru the archives, and found these. Most here in the States know of the manatee, but how many know of it's cousin...the dugong? Dugongs live in the Asiatic waters and as far down as Australia. Where manatees are protected here in the US, dugongs are not. While closely related...they are different. Belonging to the class Sirenia...dugongs have a fluked tail(like a dolphin), where manatee have a paddle tail.
