After visiting Arches National Park near Moab, UT, we drove a 70 mile roundtrip to visit Upper Canyonlands National Park and Deadhorse State Park. Well worth the drive to see such massive landscape views !! What we did not expect to see were the salt water ponds in the valley. Read the sign for explanation. When we stopped at Mesa Arch, there were just too many people in front of the arch to get a full view image. Maybe next time.

A well captured series of landscapes, MT. I do have slides taken when I visited this area but no longer have the equipment to project them so it is a treat to see
your digitals. Thanks for sharing.

I generally conscentrate on nature photography and have little experience with event and portrait work. My Granddaughter designated me as her "official prom photographer" and I gave my best effort. Here are a few of my shots. Constructive feedback will be very appreciated as I will be called upon again next year unless I totally bombed out.

Terrific, Cly! Very beautiful images of your pretty granddaughter and friend.

We have a wild turkey that hangs around the farm that we feed. The farm next door has a herd of these small deer. Two of them, a Doe and her fawn, have found a way to escape and come over often for a visit so we feed them too! I've been trying to get them to eat from my hand. Burt the Turkey is thinking about it. I can get within 2' of him. Baby Deer sometimes thinks about it too. Momma Deer says no way! If anyone knows what kind of deer these are, I'd love to know. I hope you enjoy this story series. I shoot with a CoolPix 5700.

Had the opportunity to photograph in Zambia's South Luangwa National Park. Thanks to detailed planning and an excellent guide I was able to take my time to really observe and photograph wildlife without rushing off to see the next main attraction.

Here are a few samples of images taken.

Welcome to the UHH forum, BColin! Your post of the wild life in Zambia's South Luangwa N.P. is very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

I've photographed this cabin many times over the past dozen years. Now it looks like someone is giving it "end of life" support with the pallets shoring it up. Chimney is all but gone and doors/window are boarded up...even the "Welcome" sign is gone!

Your captures of this old cabin are a tribute to its past and a nostalgic farewell, jederick.

This series is from recent attempts to catch some of the many (15+) we have coming to enjoy our feeders. Most of our visitors are "Anna's," but we're seeing some "Rufous" in the mix which will only be here a short time as they migrate north. I've shot them inflight stopping the wing action as well as showing the blur and have decided the blurred version is more accurate to what we actually see.

The perched Rufous is a little soft. He was shot late in the day when the light was poor, and I couldn't get him any sharper. I debated posting that shot but thought you'd like to see the difference between the two varieties.

An amazing set of hummers, Vicksart! I know it's not easy to photograph these pretty little birds but you did a remarkable job.

Just 15 minutes away from Times Square (via subway)
New York City's Central Park sometimes provides the most outstanding wildlife opportunities especially for bird photographers. Occasionally a dramatic moment in nature can be witnessed such as this series of Red-Tailed Hawk images claiming and fighting over their recently caught prey (gray squirrel).

Fantastic captures of these predators, BColin!

Went back out this morning to see the Mandarin ducks again before they leave our part of the world. Native to east asia they are seldom reported and uncommon in the western U.S. They are, however, related to the Wood Duck of north america and both are classified as "perching ducks".

They have been hanging around a local park, three drakes and one hen and drawing quite a crowd.

An impressive set of these gorgeous Mandarin Ducks. You enjoyed a rare treat and I'm glad you shared it, jederick.
