OK, they were wrong, and the USPS was on the ball, got it today. Will try it at the spring Rail Fest at Orange Empire Railway Museum this weekend, can't operate anything because I am on a crutch from blowing out my left knee last month, so I'll show up, help at what I can, and play photographer. Guess living less than 10 miles from MOVO helped on the quick delivery thing.

OK, checked out the Optika and Cotton Carrier competition, one too expensive, one had reviews all over the place. So I ordered a MOVO from e-bay, same price but coming from Calif. (actually a place only a short way from me) so I paid sales tax. It is still under $40. And I will have it Monday.

Yeah, I have. And they are still nit pickers, you have to look at the photo very large and hunt to find the wires, which are on the edge and do not detract in any significant way from the overall image. Nit Pickers are Infidels, Death to the Infidels. (always wanted to say that, almost kept a straight face while typing, did choke a little.)

Re: nitpicker comment - apparently you never sat on club, council or int'l. judging panels, because this is what you do in selecting acceptances, medal & HM winners.

I like both also, the clear one as a photo, the other as a daydream inducer. You can't really tell where the road goes. I immediately thought Tolkien's poem 'The Road", first version, the second from the last book needs and "Inn" for the end of the journey.

I still have two Sensorex bodies stored away in back room, one with broken shutter dial also some lenses. Last time I checked the other one still worked fine. (I used them until 2002 when I got my first digital.) Got first one at PX outside Tokyo in 67 when on R&R from Nam. Second in LA in 70's because I wanted to carry one with color and one with B&W. Shop told me that I was getting the last Miranda they were ever going to have because the owners (in US?) and workers in Japan were all reaching retirement at about the same time. No one wanted to take over and run the company so they had sold all assets, patents etc. to someone else (who?) Don't know if it is true, but sounded good.

I had a Miranda film camera that was stolen. I was quite happy with the Miranda. What happened to the Miranda brand? Did anyone have experience with Miranda cameras? Did they derail after digital came in?

Hmm! Evil thought to suggest to all those who don't have or believe in the "budget gene".

How long would it take to develop a budget gene if someone tried to talk you into a medium format digital and bag full of lenses?

Why worry about the wires, only a nit picker would even notice them. (on a large view on a big monitor) I know, you know they are there so they stick out like a sore thumb.

I posted my own 5 minute redo of the original. Lens correction to get barn vertical and greened up the grass (western Kentucky farm background, yellow grass offends me)

Find a group of trees or a building that looks good against the sky. Or get someone to pose and shoot from a low angle. ?!?

Absolutely. I teach photo students that dead center is that--dead. I really, really like this. No mountains or anything topigraphic in my flat area of the US.

Rule of gun handling 'There is no such thing as an unloaded gun until you have personally checked it.' Next rule, 'Keep your finger off the trigger unless actually firing.' and 'Never point a gun at anything you aren't willing/planning to shoot.' (I think that would include your own foot!?!?

Family needs come first, keeping youngest in college next, a little extra for family next, and last comes toys. I'll save for something if I get a little extra from time to time. My 6D and its lenses and accessories were from a year and a half of back payment(s) from VA. It will probably be a while before I get anything else major. Maybe sell some of my other toys.

That spot goes on the thing I want in focus. Also, having learned on manual I tend to take at least one manual focus of something I consider important. And when the auto focus can't make up it's tiny electronic mind I go with manual.

Being familiar with quail back east as a kid I would say that not only did you not want the males head to be lost in the leafy background but if you had tried to get lower it would have likely been a photo of the place two quail used to be. Oh yeah, I love the shot and at least on my monitor it is Very Sharp.

You'll notice that I did not offer the info on where I took the picture from until the discussion started to focus on the "why didn't youÂ…". I certainly wasn't looking for special consideration. Actually, in this case, a low camera position would not have shown the top of the male's head and the interesting colouring there.
