Thanks, Curmudgeon! I initially thought it was Eared Grebes but was swayed by the head and body shape. You very well may be right. As these four stay very close together, I think they are quite young.

I saw four of these cuties swimming in a recently harvested rice field that is now being flooded. They were not aware of my car so I had the time to get multiple photos. The photos came out much better than my eyes were able to see which is always a nice surprise. What looked like muddy water to me turned out a nice blue.
I think they are juvenile Horned Grebes which is my best guess. Or, otherwise, they are Eared Grebes.
