I think the worst thing an elderly person can do is carry a gun, it can be wrestled away and used against them. If you do some research their are many cases on record of just such incidents. I lived in the Bronx for a long time and spent many days walking the woods of Pelham Bay Park, believe me nothing beats a big dog. I could relate some other things that happened but gets to involved. A Pitbull, a Mastiff, a German Shepard, Rotti, all of them plus many others are great deterants, not only for strolls but home protection as well.

Speaking from my experience, its a no brainer, you cant beat PS! I found LR a waste of time and, since i last tried it, confusing. But dont think you can just get PS and become a pro at it, their are many things too learn, so as to use it properly. I got PS when first came out, PS1 and have been updating and using almost on a daily basis for years. You must understand that PS is a tool designed originally for the designer not the photographer. I am a Graphic Designer, and today if you want to be employed as one you need to no all the Adobe programs but emphasis is on PS.b I have a photo on here of St Patricks in NYC, you'll never see another like it, smack dab in the middle of the church was a traffic light and many wires, i retouched them all out, no easy task, I also colorized the flag and sky. Try that with LR. I process all my photos Raw and save it as a jpg. So raw file is not altered, i can make all the copies you like and never effect the raw image. Everyone has their own opinion and everyone uses their programs in a different way and purpose. Have fun and my advise whichever you pick spend as much time learning the program as you can, Ive been using PS for about 50 years. GOOD LUCK.

Before my fall a year ago I would go for walks through the woods or parks any place available to me without any fear. The reason being i always bring my dogs, two hugh Pitbulls, recently deceased. Only once being confronted by a man with a knife which my female Pitt disarmed with no problem, made the newspapers. Now adays I have bigger companion, a Bandogge, a cross between Pittbull and Mastiff, 125lbs who will defend me with his life, i have no fear.

I set to neutral so that the studio can enhance if it wants to. The other camera settings such as vivid seem to me to be just settings for those who will never use Adobe or any other digital photo program to edit shots with.

The Adobe apps are great, but if your not exceptional with them you can do more harm than good. I am a graphic designer and have used PS since its inception and i consider myself an expert with with but even i have come across some problems that cant be fixed. My advice if your going to use Adobe programs you should become fluent with them for only you can meet your expectations.

I use the Vivid setting on my M8 and the results are terrific, you might try, both ways with and without and do a comparison. The results are not overdone but noticdeable.

I usually like to shoot my fall foliage on overcast days or after a rain, colors more brilliant, no reflection. I dont like using filters. I dont no if you can control your output on your camera. I use color enhanced setting on my camera gives be vibrant images, check your settings.

I usually do not comment any photo posted here. Sometimes I vote (when asked) for one

With the abusive use of Photoshop and others, seeing those is almost like unreal.

Your photos are great. Nothing to correct and even if they were retouched in some way,
they look to me like the REAL thing. Congratulations and welcome.

Thank you so much, i really appreciate your comments

Very interesting selection of photos, however I think the 1963 Split Window Corvette would have looked better without your change of color in post processing. I also feel that the use of star bursts in the photo of the red roadster was a bit over done and detracts from an otherwise good photo. As a "gearhead" I guess I'm kind of a purist when it comes to photographing vehicles.

That photo was taken for a brochure i was doing and the client liked that one. It was to introduce his new auto. The Doval Shadow was amazing, aluminum body, 24 coats hand rubbed laquer, 24 carat gold pinstripping, corrintjian leather and burled walnut interior, blaublanc radio, grundig speakers. Best of everything. Sold for 87 grand and at the time considered finest car made. This one was mine, given to me in payment for services. I sold it a yeae later, too ostentacious for me.
