I disagree, there are many landscape images awaiting to be shot that include man made subjects like buildings and bridges. Seascapes that include a horizon line that isn't straight only appeal to a few.

You’re right, I was thinking too fast

Anybody have experience and advice as to recommended roll film backs for 6x7, 6x9 for Smaller technical field cameras? Mamiya etc? I’m comfortable with all other aspects of the 2x3 field cams, but have heard different caveats regarding roll film backs, thanks in advance

For single exposure work on full frame digital, and for accentuating near/far relationships, I prefer a very SHARP wide lens ( into the corners) the length of the short side of the format - 24mm in the case of full frame. For multi-exposure/stitched work, I like a lens equal the long side of the format (35mm) used in the portrait (vertical) orientation.

The Sigma 24-35mm f2 fills the bill to be able to do both of the above - but I think the Sigma 24 f1.4 is sharper......

..

Exactly, good advice, for landscape trees are really all you have to be cognizant of regarding distortion

What is a 'non crop sensor'? Is that a typo? Non crop could be anything from a p&s to to a medium format. 50mm is a 'normal on a FF camera.

I’m sorry you’re being pedantic, we all knew what he meant, heck FF could be 8x10, you’re right about the 50, it’s normal not wide on a 24mmx36mm sensor.

I wanted to let everyone that has participated know that I have not heard from anyone from Panasonic about my issue and I really don't expect I will. I put the lens on Ebay as a salvage lens and I got my asking price of 470.00. I fully disclosed the problem(s) with the lens. I was surprised that it sold so quickly. It's not much but better than nothing at all. It will be just my luck if Panasonic gets in touch in the future and says send us the lens and we will send you a new one- LOL. Thanks for all your support. Lesson learned is get the extended warrantees in the future. I am selling off all my Panasonic equipment. The Gx8 camera with extras is on eBay and 2 lenses are here on the forum- however as usual, I can't see the posting under buy and sell by members- another subject for another day. Thanks again.
I wanted to let everyone that has participated kno... (show quote)

I’m sorry, that sucks, good luck

Tripod? Sandbags? Time for a mirrorless camera I think. Add VR or the equivalent, hello Olympus. You’re set. With it built into the body my old primes are even stabilized. And...I think modern zooms are where all the modern research and development money go, which narrows the difference in zoom vs prime

And don’t get me wrong I usually use a tripod with the Linhoff tech 4, never with the Rolleiflex.

Do it again, but next time outsource your printing be it a photo store, print shop or even drug store, that way you have a receipt for the printing and each person could reimburse you the couple bucks it cost for each.

I will say that my experience with Oly em-1 e-620, em-5 and ep-1 has been hassle free! I acquired the pans Leica 14-50, oly 12-60 f2.8, 50-200f2.8, and the usual kit lenses. Never have I had a problem. I don’t abuse my gear, but it does certainly get used.

I went with the four thirds and micro four thirds for what I perceive is the reasonable ruggedness of the system, so I find your experience distressing to say the least

The lens fell off of the camera? but you caught it? and it got so dusty that the autofocus wouldn't work? The panaleica was going to be my next purchase, yet I wonder if the poor thing was, lets not say abused, but shown somewhat less than reasonable affection?

Good god that’s ridiculous that a lens that expensive, and relatively new, should be a paper weight.
I’m truly chagrined, on just your experience alone I would never get one, and I shoot mft. But have FT 50-200, I wanted that lens you have, not now.

Get the d700, those are plenty of big sensitive “super” megapixels, and I no longer carry Nikon, if I were that’s what I’d get tho
