Some differences between Catholic doctrine and what the bible say. This straight from Rome,so i don't know what individual Catholic churches teach and, of course,i cannot know what individuals believe.I also know a number of former Catholics who have told me quite a bit about thier experience with Catholicism.,i do know that i have never heard the Gospel preached in a Catholic church and even though Catholicism was very Christianlike in the early days,it has become increasingly apostate over the years.

1.Catholic.Initial justification is by Baptism. Bible.Justification is by faith alone(Rom.3:28)
2.Catholic.Serious sins must be confessed to a priest.Bible.Sin is to be confessed directly to God.(Ezra 10:11)
3.Catholic.Adults must prepare for justification through faith and good works.Bible.God justifies ungodly sinners who believe(rom.4:5)Good works are the result of salvation, not the cause.(Eph2:8-10
4.Catholic.The justified are in themselves beautiful and holy in God's sight.Bible.The justified are in Christ holy and blameless before God.(Eph 1:1-14)
5.Catholic.Justification is furthered by sacrements and good works.Bible.Justification is the imputaion of the perfect righteousness of God.(2 Corinth. 5:21)In Christ the believer has been made complete.(Col.2:10))
6.Catholic.Justification is lost through mortal sin.Bible.Justification cannot be lost. Those whom God justifies will be saved from the wrath of God.(Rom. 5:8,9)
7.Catholic.Catholics guilty of mortal sin are justified again through the sacrement of penance.Bible.There is no second justification,Those whom God justifies He will glorify.(Rom.8:30)
8.Catholic.Salvation from the eternal consequences of sin is a lifelong process.Bible. Salvation from the eternal consequences of sin is an instantaneous and secure act of God coinciding with justification.(Rom.5:9)
9. Catholic.Salvation is attained by cooperating with grace through faith, good works, and participation in the sacraments.Bible.Salvation is attained by grace through faith apart from works(Eph.2:8,9)Good works are the result, not the cause,of salvation(Eph. 2:10)
10.atholic.Faith is belief in God and the firm acceptance of all that the church proposes for belief.Bible.Saving faith is the entrusting of oneself to Christ as Lord and Savior.(Rom.10:8-17)
11. Catholic.Grace is merited by good works.BibleGrace is a Free gift(Rom.11:6)
12.Catholic.Venial sins do not incur eternal punishment.Bible.Every sin is punishable by eternal death.(Rom.6:23)
13.Catholic.The priest forgives sin as a judge.Bible.No one can forgive sin but God alone(Mark 2:7)
14.Catholic.When the guilt of sin is forgiven, temporal punissment remains.Bible. When God forgives sin,he completely forgives.(Col2:13;Isaiah 43:25)
15.Catholic.Acts ofpenance make satisfaction for the temporal punishment of sin.Bible.Jesus made perfect satisfaction for all sins.(1John 2:1,2)
16.Catholic.Indulgences dispenced by the Church for acts of piety release sinners from temporal punishment.Bible.jesus releases believers from thier sins by His blood.(Rev.1:5)
17.Catholic.Purgatory is necessary to atone for sin and cleanse the soul.Bible.Purgatory does not exist,Jesus made purification for sins on the cross.(Heb.1:3)
18.Catholic.Poor souls suffering in purgatory can be helped by those alive offering up prayers, good works, and the sacrifice of the Mass.Bible.Those who sleep in Christ need no help.To be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord.(2 Cor.5:8)
19.Catholic.No one can know if he will attain eternal life.Bible.The believer can know he has eternal life by the word of God(1 John 5:13)
20.Catholic.Eternal life is a merited reward.Bible.Eternal life is the free gift of God (Rom 6:23)
21.Catholic.The Roman Catholic Church is necessary for eternal life.Bible. There is salvation in no one but the Lord Jesus Christ,"for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12)

Many people hold Christian beliefs, only to abandon them later, which means they truly did not believe/understand them to begin with. Most mass murderers have been influenced by atheistic beliefs at the time they commited thier atrocities, such as Hitlers attempts to expedite the evolutionary process by eliminating those he saw as unfit, which included Jews,Gypsies,Blacks or anyone else who was not of the Aryan race.
Most scripture that is quoted as promoting cruelty or slavery is either taken out of context or twisted to mean what it does'nt.It is mainly Christians who work towards eliminating these things.
As for justifying the inquisition,i did no such thing,i merely indicated that it was misguided and resulted in fewer deaths, still deplorable, than most.
Catholicism is not an example of true Christianity as much of its doctrine is totally unbiblical unbiblical.

Most historians consider the crusades to be a long overdue and appropriate response to centuries of muslim oppression, and although the inquisision was a misguided attempt to locate and kill heretics it only resulted in about 3 deaths a year.In actual fact, most atrocities have been committed by atheists/evolutionist (Hitler,Stalin,Pol Pot,Jeffrey Dahmer, etc.)then have ever been done by true born again Christians.
Although most muslims seem to be peaceful people they are this way because they choose to do what is right even though it is inconsistent with what the Koran says. But ..even if 99% of the 1.5 billion Muslims are peaceful, that still leaves 1.5 million who are not.
