Based on my trip to C.R. Take the 70-300, there are far more opportunities for the 300 mm. But not sure why you can’t Also take the 90, it’s not a lot extra to carry. It’s use depends on what your trip takes in.
I’ve been there 3-4 times, but always in Sept. And stay in West Yellowstone as there are lots of places to stay and restaurants. I fly into Bozeman, Mt. However some hotels and restaurants close for the winter so check on what is open if you stay there. Before booking a location check on park road closings. Depending on what roads are closed and where you stay it can be a half day drive to get where you want to go. When the road from Madison to Norris was closed it was a 240 mile drive around the South up to the North part of the park and back to West Yellowstone. For photos visit the upper and midway geyser basins, mammoth hot springs, the upper and lower falls, Hayden valley, Lamar valley ( good for wild life). If you see cars pulled over it is probably because of wild life so stop. Weather can change quickly so layer and be ready. Coming in from the South in best area for moose sighting. Going out East entrance toward Cody is sometimes good grizzly bear area. Be patient, if bison are on the road you can be held up for 1/2 hour. Use toilets when you see them, it can be long drive to the next one. You’ll love the park- my favorite place. In general check out ever piece of the park so you will know what you what to see next time.
I have 4 eneloop nimh 2000 mah purchased 2/2010, they are still working fine. I do charge them with a deep cycle charger- LaCrosse BC 700. The batteries are mostly used 2 at a time in my Apple wireless mouse, so they are in continuous use. I hardly ever shut the mouse off - I forget. The mouse use to go through non rechargeable quickly. Also bought 8 Rayovac rechargeable at the same time which are use in my flash. They aren’t use nearly as much, but they are still working. Get a good charger; it will help good batteries last.
Would be really funny if so many weren’t so close to home.
