Christina...I love the way you see God's handiwork in the clouds. All nature is filled with His glory.

May His peace and grace flood your heart and soul,

Don

I had a buddie Don, who ran a Corvair repair shop, who built a 63 or 64 full blown race car. He took a 180 turbo engine, put 140 heads on it and a bunch of other goodies including Goodyear racing tires really wide rears, not quite as wide front for oversteer control, pumped out about 350 hp out of that flat six! We use to call it the "Corvette Killer" they hated seeing his trailer coming to the paddock! But it was a fun fast well mannered car!

Here is a 47 year old picture of me racing my 66' 140 Corsa in a gymkhana. The only engine mod I could afford was a Mallory dual-point ignition !! Hard to believe that was almost half a century ago....

A friend of mine raced one and his fear was when driving fast if you were to go over small high bridge and came off the road the front wheels would fold under and when you hit the road you weren't sure witch direction you would be going.

"false" fear !! I owned Corvairs (62, 64 & 66) and never had any handling problems. Ralph Nader's 'Unsafe At Any Speed' was a farce in my opinion. The Corvair's independent suspension was ahead of its time.

No water cooled radiator in the trunk, yes up front. I had a 65 Corsa, 4 spd, 4 carb with racing tires all around, use to race autocross and gymkhanas. a few trophies but that was a long time ago.

I had a 66 Corsa and used to race in gymkhanas too (about 1970 when I was around 20). I remember would take the fan belt off just before a run and boy could you feel the boost in power. Got a few trophies too !!
