Looks very painterly (my word) and it's very beautiful.

I have an Epson Multimedia Viewer P-3000. I think the latest versions are P-7000. Not only does it store your images but it also has a viewing screen so you can see what you've got. Here's a link to the one I have but you can easily search for videos on the later version.

In the Great Bear Rainforest, on the coast of British Columbia and the offshore islands, lives the only population of black bears that are white. They are called Kermode bears, named for the scientist who first confirmed they were indeed "Ursus americanus". They are commonly called "Spirit Bears". They are not albino, but rather their white color is caused by a recessive gene that results in one out of ten black bears born in the isolated population to be white. This has resulted in a stable population of about 400 Kermode bears for hundreds of years. The bears are usually dispersed in the temperate rainforest and seldom seen by even the local First Nation people. However, in the fall rainy season the creeks run full. The salmon make a run up the creeks to spawn and bear Kermode is waiting.

This is a remote area, accessible only by boat or seaplane. I was fortunate to be able to go on a small-group, nature trip to observe these magnificent creatures in the wild. A local Gitga'at guide escorted us to a bear stand to view and photograph the bears when they came for the salmon. Because the bears have had little contact with humans and have never been hunted they are not bothered by our presence. The eight photos tell the story of a Spirit bear spending three hours on a September afternoon fishing for salmon. I think you'll find the downloads worthwhile to see these beautiful creatures.

PS - I mentioned the rainy season. See the companion post: "Rain and Gloom"

Great set!

I recently upgraded from my Canon Rebel SL1 to a Canon 80D. I'm delighted with the step up. It is so much faster focusing resulting in fewer rejects. And, I've so happy with the results with higher ISO photos. I never would have even considered trying an ISO as high 3200 but have reasonable results with the 80D.
As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments and suggestions.
I think the young stallions frolicking are where the phrase "Just horsing around" came from.

Another rather uncommon sighting of a Great Gray Owl here in southwestern Idaho. With the rather warm winter we've been experiencing this year I'm surprised to see this bird down this far south.

I wish I had the superman to do over again with the years of experience I have gained since. I love the shot, but just did not quite reach the bar with this one. This was just the process of changing the background to a sky picture. Had Grandma holding the cape out in the shot. We had so much fun making this one!

I feel like the profile family composite was a success, at least for my ability. I do wish Dad had been looking up as the other two were. I shot each one separately, then lined up and blended the images in post. It ended up being a little trickier than I expected it to be.

And lastly, little guy when he was a baby. Mom and Grandma were standing right there in the shot. I wish I had this one to do over as well. Our garage door was dirty. To execute this shot, I photographed the bike in front of the garage alone (layer one). Then, added baby..Mom and Grandma. In post I just blended baby only back in to layer one.
