The hour before sunset is so nice - the sunlight striking at a nice angle, te colors more rich. And this time of year things are cooling down and the wildlife gets a little more active before night-time.

An enjoyable set, Steve. While all of them are well captured images, there's something about #1 that has a 'mood' I find appealing.

Another place we enjoyed very much.

Nice work on capturing the splendor of Canyonlands, Stash. The bristlecone pine (#8) is especially nice.

This is an HDR treatment from a single image. I'm not sure I like it, but it is different. What do you think?

I like it, kpmac! The flower is pretty and you enhanced it with just the right amount of HDR. 📷

You have to look close to see the young Blue Heron on the lower left (1/2 head showing) of photo and the head shot of the young Blue Heron on the lower

It must be quite a feat to get a shot of this heron family which look to be high in a tree. I applaud your talent, Regis. It's always a pleasure to view your work. 📷😊

You find such pretty flowers while on a stroll, Jim. I remember seeing a hillside full of lupine somewhere out west - yours brought a memory. Everything in
your posts are skillfully done images. 📷 😊

After quite a downpour (several inches) last evening, our large cactus was in full bloom this morning, quite a sight.

Unbelievable! I've been on the desert and photographed the beautiful cactus blossoms but none were as spectacular is this. 🌵 Excellent captures, Fl Streetrodder. 😊

A pleasing collection of Bombay Hook images, Bill. I enjoyed each one of these well captured subjects. You and your 📷 work well together! The blackbird pops out and I can hear him singing. 🐦

......Ruddy Ducks. These are such cool and comical little ducks. They do a mating ritual called bubbling, which is really humerus to watch. Ruddy's have two complete color phases. In the fall and winter months they are a brownish colored duck without much eye catching appeal, but in the late spring and summer, the males get a beautiful ruddy or reddish color with bright blue bills. They are the only waterfowl species that I photograph during the summer months. Here are a few shots:

This guy is doing a matting ritual called "bubbling." I get a kick out of watching the males do it.

This is an unusual male. Notice he does not have a distinct white face patch like the others. I've never seen one with a white colored face like he has.

Spent a couple of hours Saturday evening at a local 900 acre wetland area to test drive my new Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 (mated with a Nikon D5100). So far, I'm pleased with the results!

Excellent work, GBoy! Looks like your equipment along with your skill does a splendid job. 📷 🐊 Since I'm not a cat, I can be curious. Does GBoy mean good boy?
