dave

I really like the color and clarity of the picture.
I hadn't noticed the blocks before but since you pointed them out I do.

Dave- nice composition and color and clarity. Did you need to do much post on this? I have my eye on that camera and about to make the jump. Thanks for posting.

Looking at this lens (sigma 30mm e mount lens) online, I see that there are two versions...one designated ART, and one without this designation. Does anyone know the difference? Are both equally suited for the a6000? Is the lens fully compatible with all the features of the a6000...auto focus, exposure, etc..

At BH Photo if you query "Sigma 30 mm lens e mount" there will only be 1 choice in two finishes to fit the a6000. However if you query "Sigma 30 mm lens for Sony" there will be two choices- one lens for Sony DSLR and one for the e mount. The 30mm for the a6000 is 199.00 vs 400.00+. Also the one to fit the a6000 is designated DN which is part of the Sigma Art lenses.

I run the latest version of LR5 on a 3 year old Mac Pro laptop with 8g ram without problems. I have upgraded to Yosemite OS. However when I use to run it on another Mac with 4g Ram it ran very slow. I think LR is a great editing program and not that hard to learn but the "computer" part of it, i.e. moving files around can be tricky.

You would be hard pressed to beat that combination! Got my a6000 last Friday with the kit 16-50 and love that lens. So, just ordered the 55-210 to get a little extra reach in a compact package.

I have the 55-210 lens for the a6000 and it's a good one and compact compared to the equivalent on the D 7100. It is stabilized and can be handheld to surprisingly low speeds with good results. I have the fitted Sony case on my a6000 which gives a bit better grip for the longer, heavier lenses.

Looking good! Sharp and nice color too. It will be a great walking around lens. I definitely think I need to pick one up. I have the Sigma 19 mm lens for the a6000 and it does a good job too but not quite at the same level. I see you are in Tucson- we are neighbors as I am in Sierra Vista. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I agree with Loren. The key for me has been to avoid underexposure. In correcting for that in post the noise increases significantly.

I have both cameras and they both are very capable and deliver excellent photos. I find it difficult to go back to my Nikon D 610 now having become use to the smaller body size, smaller lens size and EVF. The Oly is a bit heavier and chunkier than the Sony. It has proven to be more complicated to navigate through the menus, set up and use for me than the a6000 although once set up it's fine. If I had to pick only one I would go with the a6000. I just like the feel and function better- very subjective I'm afraid. You won't go wrong with either camera.

Not possible.
Not sure why you'd want to.

Thanks for your reply. Have you ever reviewed your pictures and wondered why something wasn't in focus that you thought should have been? If so on the Nikon D 610 and the Olympus OM-D (two cameras I own) you can check your focus point(s) on the memory card after the fact. It can be very helpful.

Hi Everyone- question for Sony a6000 users- I would like to review my focus point(s) in playback. Can anyone tell me if that is possible and if so how to set that up? Thanks so much.

All good to know. I also use Adobe Camera Raw for most of my post processing. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. The copter sounds like lots of fun.

Hi everyone. I am thinking of purchasing this lens for my Sony a6000 This lens was manufactured specifically for mirrorless cameras. Is there anyone out there that has actually used this lens and if so what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. (Sigma 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras)

A few thoughts- The Olympus version was discounted 100.00 about a month ago- not sure about now. The Tamron comes with a hood and the Olympus does not. The Tamron was rated to have very little CA which could be important for landscape photography. But what swayed me were the consumer ratings and the promo photos on the Tamron web site. Both lenses are reasonably priced and probably either would be just fine. Would be fun to go to the B&H Super Center. Good luck.
