Great photos! Giraffes are the biggest "hams" on earth. They really seem to know when they are being photographed and are constantly posing!

Thanks for the quick response. I knew someone would be able to answer that question. I do have a Canon EF 24-70mm lens and a "nifty-fifty" 1.8 which will work with the 6D, but I want something with more reach. I intend to keep the T2i and retire (trade) a XTi. So, the two Sigma lenses will still be useful. Any suggestions for a lens with similar capability to the Sigma 18-250mm that will work with the 6D?

I am considering upgrading to the new Canon 6D. I presently own a Sigma 10-20mm DC HSM 4-5.6 wide angle and a Sigma 18-250mm DC HSM 3.5-6.3 telezoom lens which I use with a Canon T2i. Will those lenses work with the Canon 6D?

I have a G10. It is a great camera, as is. But, for birding, I think you are better off buying the SX40 or SX50. You can get the SX40 pretty cheap (even cheaper used), now that the SX50 is out.

Panama City, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola Beach,FL and Gulf Shores, AL are all great places to visit. February is off season for them, but comfortable climatewise. Lots of beautiful water and sand. Good fishing. Outstanding seafood all along the coast. Fort Morgan (near Pensacola) is a good photo op. Fairhope, AL is a quaint town on the eastern side of Mobile Bay. Pensacola Naval Station has great aviation museum. Eglin AFB (Fort Walton) has a good aviation museum as well.

Go on Amazon, Adorama or B&H and look at the Sigma 10-20mm lense. It is very good and much priced less than Canon equivalents.

Magnificent shots! What lense were you using? Hand held or on a tripod?

I have the same lenses you have mentioned and have traveled to the UK and Ireland several times. I would highly recommend taking the 18-250mm and the 24-70mm (the latter for the inside work as someone else suggested). I envy your trip. With so brief a time in London, I suggest you pre-plan the photos you would like to take and have your shoot organized when you get there. Google searches of "sights to see in London" might help you plan.

Depending on the location where you are working, a wide angle lense can be useful. While shooting on narrow streets in New Orleans, I found myself backing up against a wall on one side of the street in order to get the complete scene on the other side in my viewfinder. I ordered a Sigma 10-20mm the next week!

I like the third best. The entire bridge is visible. Better composition!
