Normally a ND filter will not affect B&W, or color. But beware of the cheap Tiffen filters they are a little warm in color, and will affect color and tint.
I use a B+W Pro medium yellow filter when taking B&W images, I know someone will say you can simulate it in PS. But as the saying goes, I like to get it right out of the camera the first time. You can also visualize the affect on contrast, beforehand on you LCD.
It has five ink tanks, four of which are dye based ink (photo). The fifth is the document black, and is pigment based (print).
My three year old HP all-in-one, committed suicide a few weeks ago. After having been through several printers, I reasoned as has been previously mentioned. As the price goes down, the quality goes down. But also I think the more bells and whistles offered for the price, unless it is considerately greater as the features go up, the lower the quality.
So this time I bought a no bells and whistles, simple two button Canon wide carridge PIXMA iX6520. From what I have already seen, its quality greatly exceeds that of the HP all-in-one, both in output and build. So now hopefully my reasoning pays off, in a longer relationship with this printer.
By the way I did research this model very thoroughly before purchasing, and it received very high marks for both its Photo and document quality.
Hello from the Blue Ridge Mountains of N.C. An old film user of many years, gone digital. I went through several P&S cameras, but just can't seem to commit to a DLSR; so I bought a Canon G12 instead.
I got hooked by the retro rangefinder style body, they were always my favorite even though I owned several SLR's. The G12 is quite a camera, its versatility amazes me. Not exactly a DSLR, but miles ahead of other compact and P&S cameras.
