Nice play with the light and shadows, it would also look great as a black and white. Very nice composition. Terry

No problem that's what I put them up for so that I can learn from you folks, and see different ways to shoot or edit. Thank you for showing me what to do I will give it a try I have Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom 4.

Terry. Photoshop Elements. I used the lassoo to select the truck. I cut it out. Then flipped it. Pasted it back. It then beomes a PSD ...Photosho Document. I had to save it as a JPEG to finish cloning in the missing parts. It was not done to show you my art is better than yours. You have a wonderful composition. I only did it for discussion. Thank you so much for letting me play. I learned this way. David

Thank you it is sitting in a fairly barren field and looks like junk when you just drive by but when you stop and walk along the fence line I get to appreciate the colors on the truck. It is amazing how we can find beauty in what others call junk.

on my monitor , I like the original you took . The lighting looks more natural . And I like the hill in the back ground because it tells me what the truck had to incur in it's life time . Also , just my opinion . It's up to you as the photographer I always say to choose what you like . Thanks for sharing , Tommy

Looked pretty cool huh. Your fix was also really a nice take as the picture really jumps out and gets the attention. Thanks to all of you for the help I need to learn Photoshop better.

I think the sign adds balance to the black and white shot but is a distraction when in color.

Best thing to is find a local and knowledgeable camera shop in your area where you can go and look and get the feel of what is in your price range. All the cameras are nice Canon, Nikon, Pentax, etc. I have all 3 brands and find each one has a little difference such as Pentax in camera shake reduction, some color differences from Canon to Nikon. see what you prefer and go with your instincts and the professionals advice from a good shop. Just my opinion many will say one is better than the other but it is ultimately up to you to figure what you need.

Oh yes they are such magnificent creatures and smart also. I get excited this time of year as they show up to have their baby's and mate. Soon they will be breaching the water near shore so no boat needed.

Your camera's light meter is getting fooled by the dark water. Try getting your exposure off a grey card and use it as a guide to set your aperture and shutter speed manually. If you are caucasian you can use the palm of your hand in place of a grey card. It will read about a stop faster than a grey card. I don't know the calibration factor for other color palms.

There are a few around this is one of the largest as there are boards on the other side also. I just thought that the rusty fence gate was a good focal point.

I too have seen a similar fence while in Hawaii, I climbed up a small hill to get a photo of it! Lovely, thank you so much for sharing your shot!

Thank you, I really like that fence, it just invokes the image of surfers and days gone by.

I don't think this needs HDR. You did fine without it.

Hi and welcome, a couple of months back I had the same dilemma and went with the 7100, and I am very pleased with it. I have tried the 5200 and it is a nice camera but the 7100 is so much more. I agree if you can get to a store to get the feel of both to see which one fits your needs, it is the best idea. Terry
