Open aperture, at the top click on the word aperture. Scroll down and click on Provide aperture feedback. Enter name email address and problem, someone will get back to you. Photos are in the computer somewhere, aperture is only the library, someone will help from the feedback section

That's a great idea; I'll give it a try.

When you import pictures into Aperture, there is a drop-down box "Store Files". Have you been importing with this set to "In the Aperture Library" or "In their current location" ??? If you choose the latter, Aperture simply references the files in the catalog but doesn't touch the files themselves. If you then delete the files that is where you get that message about missing masters. You can't really blame Aperture for this, you do have the choice to put them inside the Aperture library which means you can then delete the originals and it doesn't matter

That might be the problem as the only files that I cannot access are those that I have done post processing work on then exported.
Thanks,

WOW. I have never heard of that or experienced it.
Are you running OS X Mountain Lion with all the updates and all the updates for Aperture 3? I wish I could be more help to you. Good luck.

I am running the last OS and NO ONE CAN SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I may go to Elements next.

I am having problems with files disappearing and other corrupted with the master "missing or off-line" I have been to three "Mac geniuses" and none of them can solve this problem.

When I open my favorite files and try to export them I get this message: The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again.

I have tried repairing and rebuilding the data bases without success and am really stressed over losing my favorite images.
Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.

You had a vision and executed it well without overdoing the post processing. A great photograph requires a good subject, expert composition, proper exposure and focus and good pp. Also like your portrait and would like to see more of your work.

Nicely done with excellent composition and use of color. Would like to know what post processing you did.

I have the original lens that came with the body and a Tokina? zoom with a compatible mount. and a lot of accessories

If it's a 50mm, I already have one; if it's another focal length, please me know. Not interested in the Tokina.

This is one of the earliest cameras with an integral motor drive. If you have any Zeiss lenses for it, and want to sell them, please let me know as I am a long time Contax user.

Mine is definitely an SLR, I just need to get it from storage.
Thank you for the followup.
When I get it out I will take some picts of it and post them.

I have 4 Contax bodies and three Zeiss lenses for them. Tell me what model you have and maybe I can help.

Are these really necessary with many labs doing color correction? I use Aperture 3 on an iMac and am thinking about buying the Datacolor Spyder4Express S4X100 Display Calibration Device. Any thoughts on this?

A colorimeter and good profiling software are an absolute necessity to insure that your prints are rendered the way you intended when you made any adjustments in post processing.

While the ColorMunki is a little expensive, it is the best available in my opinion. They also have a lot of excellent webinars that are free, so be sure to check those out.

Your manual will explain it more, but basically it is a setting that allows you to keep the shutter open up to 30 seconds on most cameras.
A remote or cable release is recommended to remove camera shake.

Sorry to interrupt, Steve, but didn't you mean over 30 seconds? On bulb setting, shutter stays open as long as the shutter button is depressed. Or get a $5 wired remote shutter release that can lock in the depressed position as long as you want.

Would like to know where I could get one of these. Thanks,

Bill
