I've encountered the same problem. Now I just leave my external hard drives plugged in all the time. Not sure if this is a real solution, but it works for me.
Does anyone know how the Epson V600 compares to the Epson V750 Pro with regards to scanning negatives & slides. Currently using V750 & LR 6.

The bats are seasonal, they start to migrate back in March. Best viewing is in the sumer, especially August.
The Fort Worth Stockyards are interesting, San Antonio Riverwalk, and for sure the Missions in San Antonio. There's a Mission Trail, if you google it you can download the pamphlet that gives you all the info on them & how to access. Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center outside of Austin is another place to see! Have a good trip.
