I do not like to use this acronym, but I will do so today: OMG! Nice to hear that a photo enthusiast likes jazz! And piano jazz! "Can't We Be Friends" brought tears to my eyes, this being a fave song that I first heard sung by Jane Powell, on a Verve LP from 1956. (I still have it.) In a way, you have made my day, because I searched (and found) a 13-LP set on the Pablo label, recorded in 1953-54, which I will be having on my turntable soon.

I have a Tamron 16-300 and like it a lot. It weighs 19 oz and is 3.9 inches long (when retracted).

Nearby Steubenville has begun holding street fairs, "First Friday on Forth", during the summer and early fall months. Here are some shots from one of them.

Fine captures!

Nicely done, Jim! These images are great...I see you're
relatively new to UHH, so a belated welcome, and I hope
to see more of your work.

Tim

Thanks Tim! I'm mostly a lurker but hope to get more active.

I have not tried street photography before. Just not good at taking pictures of people. So I bundled up and went on my river walk today. There are usually a lot of people walking kids or dogs or just running. There were not a lot of people out and about today. I did get two though.

A nice start! I am always a bit amazed at how many people out and about are playing with their smart phones (I don't even have one).

I use DeNoise 6, not the newer software. If you don't own v6 already, you can't buy the product any longer, so it wouldn't make for much of a discussion / comparison.

I believe the Topaz Legacy Products, including DeNoise 6, are still available for download, and at no cost. Check out: https://help.topazlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001521092-Legacy-Products

[Here's a 2017 photo I recently re-edited (from raw). I'm quite happy with it, though some feedback when posted to Landscape Forum suggested preference for bringing out the detail in lowest portion. I consider myself barely competent with Nik Silver Efex.]

I think bringing out more detail in the lowest portion would take away from the main subject: the mountain! You and Silver Efex did a great job!

I use a Nikon D5500, so cannot comment on the D850. However, you might want to consider a Topaz Labs Photoshop plugin, which converts your color images to B&W, with many presets that change the end result dramatically. Check out: https://topazlabs.com/bw-effects/

I have used this model for several years as my "walk about" lens, often finding the zoom extremes useful. I have had no problems with it. I have attached three photos taken at 300 mm, JPEGs straight out of the camera (a Nikon D5500). They are sharp enough for me.
