Hi Guys,
Have recently purchased Olympus 12-40 mm f2.8 Pro lens. A wonderful
product but as I use the manual zoom, the lens makes a soft whirring
grinding type noise. Otherwise it works just fine. I am advised that his
noise is common with this lens but my Lumix 12-35 mm f2.8 lens is
completely silent while using manual zoom. Can anyone shed any light on
this? Is this normal for the Oly lens to do this?
Best regards to all.

That’s “Debk” is correct

Thank you to everyone for their efforts. I am beginning to suspect that debt is correct and that the Super Control panel option is only for the OMD and Pen models.
Thanks again

Hello All.
Had my Olympus TG-5 stolen from the car. Just received a TG6. Am unable to find
how to load the Super Control Panel on the TG-6. I cant recall if I was
able to do so on the TG-5. With my other Olympus cameras the Super Control
Panel display really helped in simplifying Olympus’ menu system. Can
anyone help me out?
Regards to all.

I would like to try a full frame sensor camera with a high resolution
sensor. Money is tight at present. Cameras have become very expensive in
Australia with steep price rises in the past year so I have narrowed the
choice to a second hand Sony A7R series 1 or a Nikon D810. Both have 36
mgp sensors. As ever both have pluses and minuses. I am a generalist. I
enjoy taking pictures; whatever strikes my fancy, from portraits to street
work, especially monochrome. Does anyone have any thoughts on which would
be better for me? Any constructive advice is appreciated.

The M50 uses a different battery from the M5 and it does not, for some reason, possess a security code. Therefore third party batteries can be charged by the Canon charger. This does not apply to the M5

Just received a set of third party batteries for Canon M5 via eBay. They
don’t have a small hologram on one end. The one original Canon battery I
received with the camera has this little hologram. Otherwise the batteries
appear identical to the original. They are one quarter of the price. From
my reading on the Net these batteries don’t last as long and don’t
show a battery icon on the LCD SCREEN. That’s ok given the price. My
problem is that the Canon charger that came with the kit won’t charge
them. I have just purchased a generic charger which the literature says
should work but I am going away and this may not arrive in time. Does
anyone have any ideas as to what I could do to get these batteries to
charge on the Canon charger? Any help appreciated.

Thank you for replying. I didn’t know the X100T offered Acros. I thought it was only available with X-Trans iii processors.

I understand that Acros is available but as I wrote, I want to know if I can approximate the effect without having to by a new camera. There is no question of fakery as the digital A rod is a simulation of the Neopan Acros film..

I have a Fuji XT1. Although the Fuji B&W simulation Acros is not available for the x trans 2 sensor that it uses I am wondering if there is a reasonable way to approximate this in camera using the black and white simulation and green, red, and yellow Fuji colour filters provided in camera. Also does one need to add a small amount of sharpness into the mix? I realise that an the Acros that Fuji has developed for their newer sensors is special but I would just like to get near that effect within the older camera if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help will be appreciated
