This is really great input particularly coming from a pro! I was thinking very hard about the P, but then the R came out which has over 40 mp. So I am now tilting toward the R. Good luck with your movie!

Thanks! I have the X 100 F which is a terrific camera (although, while touring the Amalfi coast, I accidentally switched a setting to “Toy Camera” Which resulted in some room and photographs). However, I prefer shooting with a 55 mm lens.

Thanks jwreed50! That is really helpful information. Right now, B&H is out of the Leica M 10 R, but hopefully they will get some new stock shortly.
I have a Leica M6 film camera which I love. It takes wonderful pictures and is made with the precision of a Swiss watch. I have been considering getting a Leica M10 R digital camera. However, I have read a lot of stuff online that concludes Leica is way behind Sony and even Nikon in the digital camera world. These “reviewers” write that Leica M cameras are vastly overpriced and the photos they take are inferior to those taken with digital cameras made by Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, etc. I would really like to hear the opinions of those of you who have used the latest Leica M cameras.
I suggest you take a look at luigicases.com. Luigi is located just outside of room and makes absolutely beautiful leather cases and camera straps. Not cheap but superb quality.
I had a similar problem with my D850 a few months ago. Auto focus suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. The AF/manual focus switch was right where it belonged. I tried everything for hours. It turned out I had inadvertently pushed the lens release button which in turn disconnected the auto focus mechanism even though the lens itself had not moved. A word to the wise!
