I returned to Deer Isle on Monday, 4/1/19, to photograph two areas that appeal to me. The temperature was 38° with lots of sunshine but winds gusting to 35 mph. I began on Little Deer Isle photographing the Pumpkin Island Lighthouse and finished by photographing a cove on Fish Creek Rd on Deer Isle. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos. -Paul

😀😀 Some years ago, we rented there for a couple of summer weeks. Did you notice if the old bookstore is still in existence? I have some images of it that I’ve worked on but was never happy with the composition.
Anecdote: there is an old country store nearby. One morning, I walked in, grabbed a copy of the NY Times, quickly paid and left. Turns out ALL copies are spoken for and you must order. I still remember getting chewed out the next time I visited the store.
Thanks, Cdayton! I didn't notice the bookstore you mentioned.
On Wednesday, 3/27/19, I went looking for evidence that spring has finally arrived, with winter in retreat. I headed off for Trenton, ME, about 45 miles from my home, to explore the Oak Point Road and Thompson Island. With a temperature of 41°, lots of sunshine and a gentle breeze, the Trenton area gave me just what I was looking for. I still had to wear my ice grippers to get near the shore line, but it was well worth it. I took the first two pictures just off the Oak Point Road and the third and fourth pictures on Thompson Island. I hope you enjoy looking at them. -Paul
