Great pics. One of my big frustrations when I was a child was having parents who had no interest in history. We lived in southern Pennsylvania within short driving distance of Gettysburg, but never did any sightseeing. I had to go the Walter Reed hospital once in D.C., and the only "landmark" my father went by was a baseball stadium. Your kids will appreciate those trips all of their lives.
I'm the parent that is forever dragging everyone 20 miles out of the way to see the world's biggest, oldest, craziest whatever or proposing random trips just because I want to try my hand at taking pics of a specific subject matter. The husband and kids mostly suffer in gracious silence and I'm hoping that they will remember my quirks fondly when they grow up!
