I have one that I use now and then usually on my bicycle. As others have commented, the controls can be a little confusing, but once you understand the layout it's not that difficult. A couple times it was strapped to the dog for a different perspective. I really enjoy mine and think it would make a great gift. That's it on my head!!

Beautiful, I like the first the best. Less busy foreground with the water all the way to the front.

I just bought the 24-105mm f4L and I am impresed. The images are sharp and clear, the color and contrast are fantastic!

I don't know. The image goes from my eye to my brain then directly to the shutter. I don't think my finger is involved at all.

Unless I'm not understanding your question you don't pick any white balance setting. When you tell the camera to create a custom white balance it will store the results in the "custom" memory.
I'm not explaining right. I take a shot of something white and use that white image as the custom white balance. When I take that shot, what white balance setting should the camera be set at?

What camera are you using? Nikon and Canon have similar, but not identical procedures. With Nikon you are not setting a white balance to take the shot, you are CREATING a WB.

BTW, this is all in the camera manual. What a shock!

Canon XTI. To create a white balance I need a shot of something white for the camera to store as custom white balance. Does the white balance setting matter for that first shot of something white? BTW not in the manual, thats why I am asking.

I just downloaded a pdf of the manual. It is in there. Page 86.
Tells you exactly how to do it.

THANKS!! I have read this many times but never noticed "you can use any white balance" Sometimes I do not see what is right in front of me.
