I have the 600 and 800 and love them both. They have limitations but produce great images.

I took a trip to Alaska the first two weeks of May. I spent a lot of time in Denali National Park where I ran across Grizzly bears on 2 different occasions. It was unbelievable. The park is so beautiful. Mt Denali is also a sight to see if the weather cooperates. You'll have a great time. Enjoy your trip!

A Canon lens with a fixed f11 is a far cry from a back of the magazine Spiratone T-mount special. Canon made an affordable long lens with great potential image quality for eight thousand dollars less then the cost of a f5.6 lens. Remember your image quality depends more on the ape behind the camera then on the lens.
🙈

That is so true. I wonder how many critics actually had the R5/F11 combo in their hands before they made such claims.

There are three responses to a great image: yes, no, and Canon RF 600mm and RF 800mm lenses sure do make nice pictures.

LOL...Paul you sure are an instigator. The facts are the facts. You either believe or you don't. You can't tell me that they can't be used for BIF or any other situation for that matter, with the right light. PERIOD.

That eagle and fish is wonderful! Like most things in life, a picture always beats a thousand cluckings around the henhouse.

Life changing, probably. Perfect, probably not. The horizonal orientation of these two lenses and their mounts is an interesting approach Canon has taken. The collapsible design is another. Thank you for adding a usage example to the discussion.

Thanks Paul. I agree 100%. I've got so many keepers with this combination. The 600mm is just as good. Both are super sharp in the right conditions.

The RF 600mm and 800mm fixed aperture lenses will change how we think about mirrorless, how we think about photography, how we think about life.

I love your whit and humor Paul.
