Wow, Jim! Your night venue shots are always excellent.
Hi Tom...well I've had a few flops too. Took me awhile to get the confidence to opening the lens up on this camera down to the f4 range. I was afraid I'd get to much bokeh, but turns out that wasn't the case. The subject stayed in sharp focus. Hope all is well in KC.
It was Karin. To help celebrate America and the things we like...they served everyone free hotdogs too. But, it was cold and rainy. That was the only downside.
Had the pleasure of seeing Ricky Skaggs and his band Kentucky Thunder perform at my church last Saturday night. Sure was some great music. Thought I'd share a few snapshots taken with my Sony RX10M4. Hope you like em...
That's a beautiful shot Don. You did a great job with it. I love this kind of live music photography. I try to photograph many live performances myself. As you mentioned...this is also a very common sight here in Nashville as well. Almost on every street corner. There's a lot going on here in this photo. He's playing a "Alvarez" brand 12 string guitar. Had one similar to it that I played when I was a kid. He has a "capo" on the 1st fret and a roach clip, clipped to his front shirt pocket. He also appears to have a little round mirror clipped to the top of his guitar. He's playing an "E" chord and really bellowing out which gives this shot lots of interest. I can almost hear him.
Hi Folks, had the pleasure of taking some snapshots of Lee Greenwood last night at my church. Hoping a couple of you might enjoy some of these. I also hope everyone is doing well. Alrighty then...see ya!
I like these for the artistic look and feel. I too have been experimenting with new ways of expressing old photos. I'm a lover of art and painting so these are very appealing to me. Great Job...!
My LCD screen show a small grey dot and the message " Select Focus Point on/off."
It disappears when I press button to actually focus and then reappears when release the focus button. I can find no reference to this "command" either the menu or the camera guide and a Google search gave no help.
Any guidance to the significance of this command would be appreciated.
Try this: I've had this also happened and it can be quite annoying. I discovered it was because the touch screen feature was wanting a focus point input. So I turned off the rear LCD touch screen feature (set touch operation to off)...problem solved.
As many know, I love to try to get nice photos of live performances once-in-a-while, with emphasis on the word "try". Sometimes I succeed, sometime I don't This past Sunday a local church featured live entertainment at their outdoor sanctuary for Easter service. And I was there with my camera and thought I'd share a few images. I apologize on the first image. To capture the size of the crowd, I had to shoot directly into the sun with blew out the sky. But I got the crowd photo I wanted. Hope you enjoy one or two of the others.
