More gun control? I think there is no good reason for private citizens to own assault weapons. I have no problem having my weapons registered with the local or state government. So guess I am in favor of some gun control.

A 30/06 will kill the same as an assault weapon, so watch what you say or the left will want to ban everything except BB guns. And they would have to be sold by a Government agency.

Sure. And since about 80% of lung cancer deaths are caused by smoking, perhaps R.J.Reynolds, Winston-Salem, et. al. should fund finding the cure.

I smoked for 53 years and R.J. Reynolds or any other company did not make me smoke. What next? People have wrecks in cars, do we make the auto manufactor give funds? Apply this to any other industry.

Lets put the blame where it belongs, on ourselves instead of others. I have not smoked for almost 4 years and do not promote smoking.

First the vidio has not been pulled, as you claim by Repbulicans, if you go to WJRT in Flint you will find they who did the interview didn't air it because they didn't like his answer. So now you are wrong twice already. He was asked if we have a gun problem and he answered NO. They, and apparently you do not like his answer. He said NO, we have a Crime problem and need to inforce the laws we have; and as a gun owner whose family all have carry permits I couldn't agree more. Another or your errors is that his statement about enforcing laws was not limited to gun control (Who can forget Fast and Furious)but included all of the laws that are not being enforced by this administration. RixPix you should not have used that lovely cat for your avitar, you are giving cats a bad name, stick with the donkey.

Why I would not dare to interfere in US politics I can say as an ally of the US we would feel more comfortable with Romney. We have the impression, true or false, that Obama does not much care for the UK perhaps due to his Keynan background.

Ugh??? US and Great Britian have excellent relations. Never heard or read that the President doesn't care for GB. I do know for a fact that Romney went to England for the Olympics and insulted the country. And I heard the PM's response and the mayor's response and we saw the headlines in GB's newspapers. With ambassadors like Romney we don't need enemies.
Honestly you should clarify what you meant by "due to his Kenyan background". He's an an American born and raised in this country. Every American can trace their parent's grandparents, great-prandparents etc roots to another country (except for native Americans). I interpret your comment as racist.

I disagree. People who do not understand the issues or even know what the issues being discussed are, are ignorant of a rudimentary knowledge of how government works, vote blindly for one party or the other, are unaware of current events happening around them, only vote as part of a social function or to be one of the mob or group, favor or disfavor a candidate simply based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical attractiveness or unattractiveness etc. etc., should not be voting.

If you are one of these people, do the country a favor and stay at home!!! 8-)

OK. I have been reading and listening to all the politicial stuff coming my way through email and have been quite but now I will say something and I beleive that I am 100% right in what I am about to say.

Once again we do not have a good choice for the Office of President of the United States. Neither of these men running should become a leader in my country. We have once again be given bad choices because of the way our party system works (not how it is setup). Both voting parties made bad choices once again. I do not know yet who I will vote against (not for) this year because I have trouble deciding who will do the least damage to the country. So for now all I can say is God Help Us One and All.

No I did not serve. Although YOU may think this it is funny to joke about war I do not. I know that many on the board have served honorably nothing I said in any way detracts from that service. My great-grandfather fought for the Grand Old Army of the Republic and every generation in my family including mine have served in the Armed forces. If you think about it and I mean really think about this opening post it can be easily viewed as an insult to ones that didn't come back. That's no joke, never was a joke and never will be a joke. Sorry if I didn't get your gallows humor.

How about forgetting your democratic or republican leanings and vote on the man's accomplishments. If you do that, there's no way anyone could vote for Obama. I'm not talking about the democratic party, I'm talking about Obama. The man is the biggest embarrassment this country has ever experienced in a president.
