They are such cool animals. The way they have decimated them in England is such a crime. If you have these guys around, you don't have to worry much about the rodent population! Besides, they are just beautiful. It's so good you had your chance to scratch that one off your list!

The buildings we have today are so ho-hum boring. These were the days where pure class was used in their construction. No one will spend the money to do this anymore, but there are sure a lot of these old buildings still around, if you can just get to them. It's pure art!

I recently took a weeklong road trip with my niece, to Idaho. We put 1,600 miles on the car and saw some beautiful country. We shot photos to our hearts content. It was hot, so we stayed in shady places during the day, but tried to get the golden hour shots before we quit each day. What an incredible river. This is the famous Salmon River, near Riggins, Idaho. Some of the best Salmon fishing in the country. I hope you enjoy these. I am a painter, not necessarily a photographer. I learn on each trip, though. I look for a painting when I shoot a photo, be it composition or color. I just love this stuff! This is my first time to post, although I've been a member of UHH for a few years. I hope I get this right. I hope you enjoy these.

Man, Beth, these are all just beautiful! I really enjoyed them. I wanted to go there, this summer, but after all their problems with weather I changed my mind.

I raised tropical birds for most of my life. I raised thousands of babies, hand feeding them from the time they were about an inch long. When I sold them, they were as gentle as a lamb. I always put my buyers thru a training seminar, of sorts. I didn't want them to just become prisoners, but to be their friend. I carried a cockatiel around on my shoulder for over 14 years. Yep, I had a few drops on my shirt, but they come right off. This is a conure, and they are fruit eaters. Fruit eaters have a different kind of poop, and its runny and goes all the way to your shoes. They are also one of the loudest birds ever. Loved them all but had a choice when it came to who went all over the place with me!

Devils Lake is a spot I fished a couple of years ago. We fished thru the ice on that occasion, and the ice was 4' thick. The warmest day we were there, it got up to -5F. We stayed five days. We didn't have any fancy little ice houses either. We drilled a lot of holes and sat on plastic buckets. Caught a ton of fish, too. Believe it or not, we pulled many Northern Pike out of the 8" hole, the largest being 42". They have some of the largest Yellow Perch in the country, too. It's up in the NE corner, probably too far from you.

I'm happy that you liked them. I love to paint, but I love to do photography too. I just wish my PP skills were better. I've tried to learn from the tutorials on utube, but they just talk so far over my head. I need someone who will sit down with me and show me! Cougar Country was one of my favorites to paint. I have sold a bunch of prints of that one too, all done on canvas and stretched on stretcher bars. Most have been in Pullman, Washington, home of the Washington State Cougars.

I just did a painting of one of these guys. I do love the owls. What an important bird! This guy looks like he just got out of the shower and looking for a towell! Great shot!

I've been in the same house for the past 45 years. I live on a hill with a lot of view, have all kinds of wildlife in my yard (just saw a doe with two spotted fawns under the apple tree) and birds galore! It's a beautiful state! I am a painter, and seeing all the beautiful stuff around me makes me want to paint! Maybe we'll meet one day. Who knows! My website is www.jessanderson.com if you are at all interested in art. Have a wonderful day!

These really remind me of the old hand-colored photos, long before the color process was invented. They were so unique.

I live right here in the Willamette Valley and have seen this wine industry blossom in the last 35-40 years. They do make some incredible wine and it has changed the scenery dramatically! The hills have been stripped of millions of oak trees and filled back in with countless rows of grapes. It draws people, like yourself, from all over the world. This year the weather was a little different and stayed damp a little longer. It will make for some great crops! You have captured our valley just beautifully! I will never leave this area!

Cindy, I would like to invite you to see some of my work. I painted the Snoqualmie Falls, in Washington, not long ago with a Peregrine Falcon in it. They are both there for the 1.5M tourists who visit the falls each year. I have always loved to paint water. If you get some time, go to www.jessanderson.com. I generally paint wildlife but have other pieces in there too. I got my first set of oils when I was 11, and I just turned 75, so it's been my passion for a long time. My email is jessandcheryl@hotmail.com if you'd like to be on my art email list. To those folks I also send many step photos showing how the painting came about. JESS 971-241-6239

Cindy, these are all beautiful. I am a painter and have painted waterfalls many times. As far as the photos, I much prefer the faster shutter, as in a painting, as the silky water never has the same effect. I like that tumbling action and to me it looks much more natural. I guess it's everyone to his own likes. Beautiful shots, though. JESS

I thoroughly enjoyed this concert. What an eclectic bunch to put on the same stage, but it worked. This was very enjoyable! Thank you!
