Yes, pre-focus where you see the hummingbirds landing, also depending where you are, meaning in USA or South America you’ll need to remain still, no sudden moves, as they respond immediately and leave. In my experience depending how many hummers you have, they come and go every 15 to 20 minutes. I live in New York and only have a few hummers and when I go to Ecuador to Mindo they are plentiful and are used to having their pictures taken and you can shoot all day long.....happy shooting!!!!

Don’t forget back-up batteries, cards and electrical adaptor for the different types of electrical outlets you’ll encounter to recharge those batteries.

Yes to all the above, but the gypsies are out there, we took a 17 day tour from the Amalfi Coast to Venice and by the time we got to Rome we forgot all about the gypsies and became very comfortable until on our last day in Rome were having lunch and my wife's pocketbook with all our cash was stolen right from under us. If I hadn't seen the video surveillance camera replay at the restaurant I wouldn't have know where the pocketbook went, it was taken by an older gentleman with a hat and sunglasses who was sitting near by, never would have suspected him, keep your valuables close! And yes Italy is beautiful and wonderful !!

Basically if you want to know the weather, look out the window, if you want to know if you're going to have a problem taking a picture with condensation, look at the lens, you'll see it. I found out the hard way taking pictures in Mindo, Ecuador of hummingbirds which is in the cloud forest and couldn't figure why some pictures were coming out blurry, then I looked at the lens one morning and saw the condensation. On my camera once it was acclimated to the temperature the condensation disappeared.

Hi Alec, unfortunately I've never been to the coast, but travel regularly to Quito and explore from there. Don't know if you'll have transportation or if there's some sort of bus service from Puerto Cayo. If you like birds, then you have to go to Mindo, which by many is considered the "birding" capitol of the world. I stay at Sachatamia Lodge, very modern and well managed. Here you can get wonderful shots of humming birds, you can walk right up to them and take their picture, absolutely beautiful !!! I'm guessing that Mindo is about a four hour drive, but you will not be disappointed.

First of all, I always carry my camera over my shoulder when getting on a plane, never in a carry-on always on my person. For checked luggage I always "zip" tie the zippers together and carry extras in case they need to open my bag. I travel quite a bit and lately if they want to check my luggage they call me down to where my luggage is and open it in front of me, sometimes they even offer to "zip" lock it again for me.

My only thought is that if you have a problem down the road, what are you going to do ?, go back to the island? Once you leave so does your warranty. You never know where the camera came from, be aware !

I own a Sony a6300 and had the same dilemma and posted it within the last week regarding after market batteries and chargers. Most responses said the same as those above, that Wasabi worked well and I also didn't want to spend double or tripple for a Sony product. But then I got a couple of responses that said you spend a lot of money for your camera, why take a chance and not use the battery that was designed to be used with your camera. Look at the specs of the Sony battery vs the Wasabi they are not the same. Another wrote that the battery walls on the after market ones are thinner and run the chance of leaking ? Anyway I went to Best Buy and bought 3 camera items and received a 25% discount which brought the cost down, for me it's peace of mind keeping it all original.

How about a camera that responds to your "eye" when you blink the shutter releases, no more button ?

I bought the Sony a6300 on the advise of a professional photographer when I asked her the same question, I absolutely love my Sony, very happy with my decision. I understand that you can get a really good buy on the Sony a6000 now that it's gone to a6300 and a6500. Gook luck.
