I have that Sigma 50 to 500mm lens and it's big and heavy and requires additional support.

Perhaps dense foam or pipe insulation wrapped around the support-foot would allow the user to then rest the foot on the edge of the window frame or most any other horizontal solid object. Steve Perry's suggestion is to place the foam on the vehicle, but then that restricts where you can support the camera.

This sign suggests a distortion regarding the personality of our much loved black cat; however we had found it at a yard sale and could not resist buying it and nailing it onto the entrance to our back porch.

That's funny!

I doubt it, but you could discount the prices of your own work based on your equipment savings.

If other photographers criticize your work it should be in the spirit of constructive criticism regarding composition, technique, etc. and not about the equipment. Their opinion would be in the context of your type of camera.

I used to shoot exclusively with a small sensor non-interchangeable lens camera until adding a DSLR, but I still find them handy for silent shooting and what I call utility, or documenting purposes, like this photo I sent to a watchmaker recently along with a question. It also works well on a copy stand since my current DSLR lacks a tilting screen.

Intricate detail in that photograph. I like the unusual, to me anyway, way of adjusting the "speed". I've never seen a screw adjuster for this application.

How can we forget??? What a great "find!" These photos bring back many memories of my very first of many radios...the famous Rocket Crystal Radio! It required no power, was very inexpensive, and yes, I am dating myself, first showed up in the late 50's is my recollection. The pleasure it brought was far more than the pittance my father paid for it. Sitting up next & "plugged-in" to the steam heat radiator in my bedroom well after the family bedded down for the night, tuning into stations oh so distant disc-jockeys. Talk about being "global" at such an early age! It was that little radio that started me down a path to becoming an audiophile later in life. To this day, I enjoy a collection of audio equipment that provides my family with the wonderful music of today and past generations from all over the globe. Little did I know that the little Rocket Crystal Radio would kick-start such a passion in my soul.

Thanks for reminding me of such sweet memories "tradio!"

Cheers!

Indeed, my first radio was a crystal radio called the "Galaxy". I bought off a toy turnstile at a grocery store. I used to connect it to a metal lamp shade hoop at night while laying in bed.

Well done!

It looks like a quiet early morning scene in a shallow bay.

Composition is how the content is arranged.

Content = subject + supporting (surroundings, background).

I think that's an excellent definition of composition!
